So, I am thinking that since my engine is out, I will paint the block. I am new at this, so what do I have to do? Is that high temp spray paint gonna do it? Or is it something that will have to get baked on, because of the heat? I was thinking of doing just a gloss black, maybe a silver. Haven't made up my mind yet.

If you can afford it, definitely get it powdercoated(will last longer and be more durable), but if not:
Clean it thoroughly with degreaser and brake cleaner. After that, just use some high temp paint. I don't think you'd need primer, but if you can find high temp primer, go for it. Then just use some high temp clear coat for a nice glossy finish.

Well I think that the spray will be faster. But there is that shop that does powder coating right next to post. Should I wait till after the block is punched to do the this... I would think so just so it don't mess it up. It just makes more sence.

Do just like Jack and Hawk Mentioned but I'd go with Neon Yellow. Makes your eyes open when you open the hood. My 69, I painted the block with spray car paint. Neon Yellow & Lime Green plug wires. With the chrome it should go faster.

Rob, if you're going with the burgundy/silver theme, I'd go with burgundy. I think that would look really good, with a bunch of chrome!

The whole thing is the 2 cars are in the "holding area". The blue '94 has been there for a year atleast and i just noticed the silver one today. When I asked I was told they were being inprocessed. I wouldn't think it takes a year to inprocess. The '94 has a chip in the edge of the door but looks pretty much intact. The other car I'd say atleast a '99 still looks intact except for the nose piece. I'm gonna find out how to speed up the process and get back to you.

Hey Rob, got something you might be interested in: steel braided hoses. I have limited sizes and no fittings. but since your engine is out it will be easy to do. mine was a pain in the arse!!! And i still need to do my fuel lines.

Just let me know about those cars... I am looking for some stuff also. I will be glad to throw some $ in if I can get some parts. Like rear axel, complete with rotors and all; the little rubber drink thingie; maybe some sunvisers.

I think I remember the blue one was a '93-'97. I don't know about the other one that zcam94 is talking about, I haven't seen that one yet. I might have to go check it out tomorrow after I get off duty.
