Well today I went and spent an hour with my car. I took a photo of the car just to make sure he knew what it should look like :) We are waiting on the final word of the dollar amount that the insurance is going to pay for the repairs. The total that Roman (the body shop guy) came up with was close to 20,000DM. Once the insurance company gives the go ahead all parts will be ordered from the states and shipped to my APO. Some parts are being added that are not really bad. This is what raised the dollar amount of the cost.

I am getting new Front and Rear Swaybars(19MM Rear and I believe 35MM Front) I do not think the ones I have are hurt in anyway...

He told the adjuster that he needs to replace my whole front end. This means from rotor to rotor. I was like holy sh!t. The wheel bearings alone are $300 list. I am going to get new springs and struts. A new paint job!

I am trying to substitute the following aftermarket parts:

4 ea 2000 Corvette Rims (polished 17 x 9.5)
Bilsteins all the way around
Powerslots and Hawk Pads all the way around
I tried to do the adjustable front A-Arms, but they cost more than stock and I do not have the front money for them. All of the other parts cost less than stock.

The guy told me I will get my $400 deductable back and 1 - 2,000 in my pocket. $ that is. I was like hell yeah.......

I hope to know a status tomorrow on the estimate as the guy who is doing it goes on vacation saturday for 3wks. Can you say pissed off George if not? Roman said he goes on vacation the 10th of August and his goal is to have my car done well before he leaves.......

Hey George I was thinking about redoing my front end. So how did you do it, did you turn the wheel to the left or the right to spin without to much body damage. I also figure I can blame the clutch on that. So my next question is who has a truck to pull my car up to 80 then we'll disconnect from the truck and jerk the wheel to create a spin. Any takers on this operation.

Just kidding man, glad to hear your going to get a little reward for a bum deal. Good luck and you'll be up and running in no time.

i didn't even finish reading your post but the 19 is too small for the rear w/ a 35mm up front. You gonna have massive oversteer.
At least get a 21 but you really need a 25. DO NOT GET A 19!

Now I'll finish reading the rest of the post.

Hey why don't get the new front K-frame from ARE and shave like 40lbs up front? Just a thought w/ all this money they are putting on the car.

Glad to hear things are working out for you. Didn't I tell you your car would be ready before mine? :)

35 mm in the front isn't really nessecary IMO, you already have a solid axle in the back, you really don't want to create the same in the front. Bigger isn't always better :)

John, it looks like i will have my Z28 on the road before you do ;)

Ummm I am not buying any different sizes of swaybars. I was unsure of the factory WS6 sizes. Whatever comes on the WS6 is what I am getting extra.......

Actually if any anything a 19 will cause it to understeer. Bigger bars on the front to an extent will cause under steer
Bigger bars on the back will cause the car to oversteer.

The 1LE package is a good package but I think john will get you. His car is low enough to be a lotus.

Well, we'll have to see about that :)

Looking at his Rap sheet I have at least 200 pounds LESS in the nose so that's gonna make a hell of a difference for cornering plus i have a pretty good suspension. That together with low profile 18" tires makes it handle great.
Too bad i just don't have the power to get that thing moving fast :(

Hey John, what about some pictures of that car ?
