Don't want to sound pessimistic, but from my experience concerning running an official "Verein", it's something that takes people that are willing to invest time, some money, and will usually slowly decrease in participation until there is hardly anything left ...

Main problem I see with registering as "Verein" - even going without being accepted as "gemeinnützig" - is a pretty burocratic organisation of the club, writing official reports, etc. ... plus we need personnel that is responsible for all above ... don't know as to requirements of nationality, etc. ...

The other, probably even bigger, problem is the actual participation of the members. From what I've seen over the last couple months, there's always a lot talking, but when it comes to _doing_ something, some people can't come due to work reasons (can't do anything about that, will always happen), don't like the weather, aren't interested right then, don't have their F-Body up and don't want to roll with something else, etc ...

Anyway, if we have enough people engaged in getting this to work - go ahead ... but I'd say we should just do this as a private club - this wouldn't stop us from getting stickers/banners made, etc. ... and we could still see how it works out and get registered ...

There would be some benefits to it also.
Like having sponsors or renting tracks or have own events...
every little town (i.e. like the one I live with 900 people) has registered soccer club, a house(wo)men club, a sports club, a singer club, a dogs club, a horseclub, a bunnys club, a chickenclub, a farmers club, a tree planters club, an artists club, ... I do not remember/know all and do not want to bore you with this endless type of listing...
but they definetly would not organize in clubs when the outcome would not be positiv.
I'm in three or four of them myself, there is the main meeting once a year for the elections who is the president (spokesman), cashier, and who is taking written notes.
Of course there is people never show up and just pay the small fee and others coming every time and helping and others just coming and try to earn of the benefits... but that is normal.

Tnx ;) :( ...

No, but I know first hand how it works out ... and I've seen what kind of participation we had throughout this year ... :-( Remember, I was down at Chiemsee, along with Shitkicker ... contrary to the dozen or so other people who in the winter were so fired up about going on a cruise, or even made it to Munich, but then decided not to go the last couple miles, but instead head back to Nürnberg ... Is that the way the club will be, too?

Anyway, I'd gladly see myself proven wrong ... I can only say I'll be there to support it ...
