Hey everyone! I'm currently in the US, but will be moving to Germany (not sure where just yet) towards the end of December or the first part of january for my student teaching through the Dept. of Def. Another friend of mine here in Arizona pointed me towards you guys, as he will also be moving the Germany shortly. I'm not bringing my car with me... yet. It all depends on whether or not I get offered a job there. We'll see!
I have heard that insurance for our cars can be rather expensive... any insight about this? Thanks a bunch!
Brian

Wow... that's not too shabby. I'm not married, 26, and pay $195/mo for my SS and my '86 Toyota 4x4 through USAA. A couple of my friends said that the insurance was based on litre size of the motor... is this true or are they mistaken?

Welcome! The trick to the insurance here is to buy a second vehicle (hooptie). Then list your SS as the second vehicle, it will drop by a hell of a lot!!!

I'm married 26/ & 2 rug rats and pay $000.00 for insurance. That is until my car comes completly off the deadline list this weekend and then I'll be paying $112.00. Insurance in Germany is pretty cheap compared to the states. When I first got here 3 yrs ago I was expecting to pay well into the high 2s but everywhere I went it was always less than a $130.00.

Sounds like if I do bring the car I'll actually be paying less than I do here in the States...lol This is kinda cool.
