Yeah me too. I was on a site the other day and it looks like they're robbing from our boy Robh. They wanted more for one too. IF I do go that route then I have to sell my T2R to compensate for the CFDS. Man I don't want to do that just yet.

What's all involved in welding the axle tubes? :D

no worries everybody that is doing a strong rear is using a fab housing. Let me guess you were looking at Billingsley's site? Its good stuff, but I will give you guys some advice. If you want a fabbed setup or just a plain old rear setup there are some things you should be armed with.

The only differance between a normal rear and a fabbed one is the housing. FYI a fabbed housing goes from 400-800 depending on mild steel or chromoly. This is available from your friendly autozone (yes autozone). A 9 inch housing can be had all day long for 100-200 bux.

then you need axles 28-40 splines cost about the same, depending on what strength you need/want.

The bearings and misc crap is nickles and dimes in the grand scheme.

the center section is were you can really save your pennies. Do yourself huge favors and shop around. One of the better kept secrets on the web is http://www.racingjunk.com a center section is gonna run from 800-1500. There are 3 basic flavors to them, and if you want to step up to a ultra case (you and i dont need one) it can be close to 2k.

The 1500 is about what all the parts minus your torque arm bracket and backing plates would cost in parts. Typically you would pay someone over 3-3.5k to make a fab.

And for the record I dont have anything to do with making them, the shop is "Neverlift" racing (not the one in Jersey BTW).

I'm finding out more and more that when your budget modding there are countless ways of doing it without filling the pockets of thunder/t byrne/katech ...etc Just find out what makes up whatever it is you want and see if there are any options.

and another btw, do some research around your area and i'll bet you can find some local places that have mandrel benders. You would be amazed at what you can have made for $'s a foot compared to buying from the aftermarket

Just wondering what you guys got planned this winter for next yr.
Myself? Nothing........a pair of AFR LT4 220 or 227cc Race ready heads and matching bump stick to go w/ it.

Jack, If that's nothing, then I'd really hate to see when you have "something" going on

Anyway, I won't be doing $h!t this winter with buying a new house in Tejas...unless a building a garage counts

Now I know what I gotta do next... kind of forgot.

Well, we had the idea to use the 79 Camaro to tow Novarat's SuperGas in Hockenheim... would have been somewhat different from all the others there if there was not the front part of the right fender missing... it just don't look right without that piece.

Next car picked: Dodge. drove from my house to the shop for some good cleaning, about 100 km. was fun to drive... until the right brake locked up at Sembach. Rick driving behind me in case of such a case, took the tire of and fixed the problem. no further problems to the shop. now I still need the control arms and ball joints replaced, besides the tires look bad and need an alignment, don't think that all is gonna happen before Wednesday/Hockenheim.

To get back home I took the 86 T-top - all by myself this time - but made the 100 km without a problem! I did not go for kills, just average 65 mph, the car has been sitting up for a while. I will drive it the next few weeks when the weather is nice, and now I do not really want to sell it anymore...

so the beasts are rolling. nothing special racing wise yet, just as said: keep'em running.

BTW: Jack, did I see you under the hood of your car when I passed through Vogelweh with the Dodge this afternoon?

No mods this winter. Going to the land of the sand. Now next winter or spring will be a different story. Will be leaving though before I can enjoy too many of them.

Barry, that was not me who posted that! :)

Yes Silke, that was mine. I saw you as you were already past me. You were driving the Dodge, right?

Rob, this is the rocker arm setup I want:
Image

T&D Machine Products Shaft Mount Rocker Arms are the perfect compliment to our solid-roller camshaft & cylinder head packages. Shaft mounted rockers prevent rocker arm stud flex, which can rob horsepower and even cause damage to your engine. Shown with Thunder Racing valve cover spacers, available below. (LS1 rockers pictured.)

It will either be these or the new Comp Cams shaft mount rocker arms.

was driving the T-Top today on my tour around PS, Miesau, ROB, KIC and Daenner and had a lot of fun.
