I haven't been back in country a full 60 days and out of those 60 days I spent less than 40 w/ the Mrs's due to me studying for promotion and her doing 2 wks in TX for training and the unthinkable happens. Yep that's right, snagged for a no notice courtesy of the Green and she's AF. WTF?! She's got 8 wks of doing her thing in Killen and another location before heading off to her final destination. Baghdad Camp Rustimayah (something like that) and won't see her until Dick Clark does his thing.
This one hurt and cut me deep even though we've been doing this split for 10 yrs straight. She took a HQ job so she wouldn't have to go anywhere but that didn't happen apparently. Only good benefit is she'll save a crap load of $$ but I'd rather have her home. 20 and not a day over for both of us. 09' and I'm out. Thank goodness we don't have kids. I don't know how you guys do it but my hats off to you all that do have children.
So for the next 2 yrs I will have seen my wife a total of 3-4 mos as I will roll out shortly once she returns unless I get lucky but that won't happen even though I'm taking a HQ job myself next month.
She flew out this morning and I miss her already............. It's going to be a very long yr.

Sorry to hear about the divorce. Yeah I'm still at Ramstein but will be working up at Sembach until later this yr when they relocate us to Ramstein.
I think by us being apart all the time keeps us together. LOL! In all seriousness we get along and work well together and we do like each other. There is never a dull day in our house. I can honestly say I'm one of the lucky ones.

Sorry to hear it. That part has to be hard. I know of the camp you are talking about because I have been there personally.

Wanna share some info on that camp NX? Is that in or out of the green zone? Pretty safe considering no place is really safe?

Sorry to hear that. It is very tough when you have kids but it still hurts if you don't. If you ever need anything, drop me a line.

Thanks Rodney. I talked to her this evening and she's still a little shaken up by it all but the wifey is a trooper she'll bounce back in no time. She got lucky as the all taskers after her got tagged for 1 yr from here on out. Hopefully they don't do her that way as then she won't be back until next June. And of course I'll already be gone for my bid in the dirt.
I just feel sorry for the folks down there w/ her as she's a beast when the temps rise about 85. LOL!
Thanks again.

Hey man sorry for ya. I have been in the same boat for nearly 3 years and I just found out that she is taking the kids and going her own way. Try not to sit at home as it sucks being there alone. The summer is almost here and the racing is about to begin. Keep a positive outlook and stay busy and the year will fly by.

Thanks for the tip jinstall. Sorry to hear of your loss. A idle mind is a scary mind.
Daddy I'd take you up on that offer but I'm going to Cincy 1st in Aug. I have enough time I may drop by.
Racing season....I just hope to have a car to drive this season let alone race!
Thanks for the support.

WOHOO! Wife is home!
Let's just say the Army didn't find her fit for "Urban Combat". Anytime you need cooks to do the fighting well...........

Don't say that to an army cook . Those boys and girls cook and pull convoy duty. My hat off to them.
Glad your wifes back on a different note.

Yeah I know Roy. Didn't mean it like that. Army's moto is "Soldier 1st" MOS 2nd. I know I'm a Army brat to the core....but I'm AF so our thinking is totally different. We kill you from afar so if us cooks have to get in involved we are all in trouble. LOL! I can throw some hot grease and grits all day but that isn't gonna stop you from coming over that hill........well maybe for a short period of time but that's about it.
We were built or trained for that that's not what we do but give it 5-10 yrs it'll be Army Air core all over again I can almost guarantee that.
But you get what I'm saying though....

Glad to hear that everything worked out. Now if she finds out what you spent on the car, then you are the next to go into the fryer.
