For those of you that don't remember, I tried to hook you guys up with a deal on the 2010 Camaro a few months ago
viewtopic.php?f=11&t=8258

I started working as a salesman at a chevy dealership when i got out of the Air Force to keep the bills paid while I was looking for a job in my career field. My intent had been to get a group of guys together that were ready to buy and take in the dealership together so we could negotiate a good deal, my pay was based on volume, not gross, so I would have gotten paid the same no matter what you guys paid for the cars. You guys would get a good deal and I would get a sweet commission check, so everyone would win.

long story made short, sales manager liked the idea, general manager hated it. Wouldn't go anywhere less than 5K over less than MSRP w/ a 10K none refundable deposit, even though you could ride 5 miles down the road and order one for 1K over and got pissed at me because I was trying to order cars instead of selling the crap on the lot. Shortly after that I found out that the demo Suburban (1 of 4 2007 demo SUVs in the same situation) we had $56K MSRP on the window sticker really had a $48k MSRP and the $40K they were asking for it was really full price because chevy had an $8K rebate despite the fact that we were told they were selling them at a loss. We got $500 for selling demos and $1K for selling demos at a profit, so in addition to the fake window sticker cheating the customers (which i'm pretty sure is a felony), the salesmen were getting cheated out of our commission if we actually found someone dumb enough to buy it. That was the last straw for me and I quite the morning after I figured that one out. I'm an honest person, i never knowingly lied to anyone, and i won't be a part of something where I am lied to an pass that information on to others as the truth. I could give you a dozen other examples of how people got ripped off, and that's before I even talk about the service department. I thought chevy dealers were bad before, now I won't go near a chevy service department. I sure there are good ones out there, but this was just ugly. Anyways, I won't name any names here, if anyone is thinking about buying a car in Virginia and wants to know 1 dealership to avoid, shoot me a PM. They sale more than just Chevy.

Oh yeah, after another 2 months of unemployment (home depot wouldn't even hire my ass) I finally got a job in my career field last week and am finally getting my career back on track.

Glad you're off the street again ... as for the dealer, I guess you'll find black sheep everywhere ... goes to show you do need to check around a lot to make sure you're not getting screwed ...
