A 200r4 will bolt up in place of the th350 and the original drive-shaft can be re-used. Just make sure that the tranny has a dual bolt pattern (BOP and Chevy). The first gear isn't as low so you don't have the "power" drop like the th700 and fourth gear is higher so you get better mileage. Just my 2 cents.
(BTW, that's why I got a 200r4 for my '57)

OOPS, forgot to mention that the th350 needs to have the 9" tail-shaft and the rear mount location is similar to that of a th400. (But don't quote me on that.)

OK, I'm talking (writing) without thinking again. The th350 that is now in my truck came out of a '79 Camaro and the 200r4 that will be replacing it came out of a Olds wagon (dual bolt pattern bell housing). The lengths are the same but I'll have to move my tubular crossmember back some for the mount. Soooo, you should have no problems. The biggest thing is getting the throttle valve set up just right (perfect) at the carb. If it isn't adjusted just right, you could burn up the trans by not having enough pressure at high RPMs or too much at idle. I forgot who, but someone makes a device for about $100 so I can retain the lock-up feature of the converter so it lasts longer plus, I gain a little more mpg and top end. (If the truck can pull that high!) It might be Painless Wiring . TCI and B&M should have similar products. Just do a little research and you should be pleased. Just remember, this ain't no FOMOCO so things are a little different.

B&M has the part you are talking about. I founf a web site that has everything I could want and need. I am doing the 200r4 for the same reason better fit. Just look up http://www.transmissioncenter.net/200-4R.htm you wont be dissapointed they have great prices and some nice horse power trannys. As far as setting your TV cable it is very easy I have had 5 Camaros long before I went to Ford. I was a chevy man and just recently changed. I just dropped my heads off last night they are getting ported and shaved. My engine made 315 horses with a 9.1to1 compression with stock head work and I am going up to 10 to 10.5 now so I will be a little more ponified.

Hm ... seems like we've had a wakeup-call here ;) Nice to see the increasing amount of posts, though it's mainly the "old folks" ...

I must of struck a nerve, thats why people are posting.(JOKE) I never posted as much because I was out driving my cars but now both my cars are down. And that has never happened before. And yes I do miss my K-Town home I left a lot of good friends there and where else can I go blow some steam off at 150 mph plus. So how much has posting picked up?

I think that these days there are too many forums round and to keep up to date, you have to be a member on all of them!
