how does the brakes feel ? as good as a hydraulic powered system ?:
JeeJee Until you said something about them being electric , Ihad no idea. The brakes are exceptional on it.

any idea if it would work with the connector from pic 2 disconnected ?:

With no power to the motor the pedal is real hard to depress , just like regular power brakes with the vacuum assist exhausted. I guess it could wired to run the motor to build up the PSI in the sphere.

Got the ABS working. Jeepers that wheel sensor was expensive. 170 Euro. I have bought Porsche parts that were cheaper.

Roy, make sure those head studs are not ARP, if they are, better change them to the original (new) ford bolts- these are good upto 500-600hp..
there have been many problems with the arps for the cossies.

the head looks nice and clean :ok:

Me too why do you think I am in K-town all day tomorrow at the stripping yard tearing the frame out of a Geo Tracker. Oh a friend of mine just dumped a E30 325e and I have to turn in the paperwork on it. If I didn't have thr Tracker to work on I would have been all over this as a Bitburg beater KOTH car.

Minor set back today. One of the cam tower studs pulled out of the head with the heli coil on it while trying to torque to 20 newton meters. Hope I can find a specialist to do a house cal on that.

Sorry about that Roy but the head loooks good. Was great to stop by and have a coffee and see the house. Dany was happy to stop by as well and really enjoys talking to both of you. Hopefully next time we can stay longer. It will be 2 weeks before i can get back down to the strip yard.

it wasn't the 6mm was it ?

damn that sucks big time , well as long as the engine has not been run, you can re-use the headgasket (at least i would) if you do have to take the head off again..

And it runs finally . Didn't start on the first crank but on the third attempt it fired up and came to life. Lifters tapped for a little bit until they stabilized . All is good for now.
