Finaly, aside from me dieing before tomorrow, which I wouldn't dought with the way this deal has been going. I will be actually picking up my 97 Camaro SS. I should be down there around 1300-1400 to pick it up. This time it is for real. The money is in his account and the car is mine. I can't wait. Just in time for a long weekend too. Maybe I will actually get a chance to wash it. Wish me luck, Peace

I'm sure you will see plenty of me next summer at all of the races. Hopefully you will see plenty of my tail lights, but I doubt it do to my limited budget. That is why I will probably go with NOS when I get back to the states, Cheap and fast. Well I ordered a Holley Power Shot air filter(lots of research to find the one for the SS) and PRO 5.0 Shifter(had one on my 5.0 Stang and loved it). Trying to talk the wife into a SLP 2 on the left exhaust system for x-mas, Hopefully. I think she is sick of hearing about the car already after all the b*tching I have been doing. Later folks, gotta go for now.
P.S. is anyone else having trouble using this sight at work? Mine stopped working at work again What do they actually expect me to work or something?

Good to hear you have good news!! I was curious why I haven't seen the beast yet. Go figure just after I put my car down for a little "improvement" you get yours finally. I'm sure we'll have time after I pick mine up.
I'm having the same problem at work. No clue why.

Too bad you didn't have the car in time for our get together this past weekend. I'm sure Scott or Jessie told you all about the Honda club that we ran into. They were talking a lot of crap until we finally got them to race us. Too bad that you just got your car after Scott and Howie put their cars away for the winter tonight. Better late than never right =). I have a feeling they will get them out again during this long weekend coming up and perhaps you can all take some pictures or something.

Well I finally have the car in my driveway. I took it to inspection and it failed It has the dreaded intake oil leak at the back of the motor. I brought it home and cleaned the crap out of the engine. It looked like the previous owner never opened the hood. I am taking it back this morning to see if I can slip it past inspection and get this registration finallized. Wish me luck.
The 100 mile drive to it's new home was pretty uneventful. The car seemed to run good. It did seem to want to follow every groove in the road, but I suspect that is normal with the wide tires it has, 275/40R17s. Even with the wide tires it had no problem spinning the crap out of them. At about 40mph in second I pushed in the clutch reved it up and dumped the clutch.....two nice black patches left on the road. Sorry if this is old news for you, but I am just enjoying having some real power/tourqe again. It is definetly going to be a handfull this winter, no traction control! Now if I can just get it past inspection!!! Peace

Got it through inspection and I have the registration finallized. I washed it Wednesday when I got home. I don't think the previous owner ever washed the door jams or waxed it. I need to get a coat of wax on it soon. Actually, I need to do a lot of things to it soon. Anyway Just keeping everyone posted. Thanx for the help and support along the way. Peace

Wax has one problem - no matter how often you wax your car, you always only have one layer, as the previous layer is removed when applying a new one ...
Zaino stays one, creating many layers, thus protecting the clear coat more ... also, it is UV protection ... a starter set will run you around $50 or so, but it goes a long way (I got me a set in April, and though I have put more time in polishing my 'vert than driving it, I've not even used half of one of the bottles ...). Check out some of the pics at http://www.zainobros.com - I can tell you, they are not doctored in any way ...

Krazy, where are you located? Are you near Darmstadt? I am about 30 min from Mainz. Maybe we can get together somtime.
And if I remember correctly, I think the SS already has the SLP 2OTL? At least the one here in Darmstadt does. I thought they came stock with it? I could be wrong...

Garry, I will definetly look into getting some of this wax.
My96z, I am located at Spangdahlem. It was about a 2.5 hour drive one way to get the car, but well worth it. The SS had 2 exhausts options. One was the 2.5" with daul tips and the other was the 3" with one outlet (or both on the same side). Mine has the 2.5 with daul tips. I like the daul tips, but love the sound of the 2OTL. So eventually I will get it. Probably won't be for x-mas like I was hoping. I have to drop $500 on some steel wheels and winter tires next week, D*mn snow! Cost me my exhaust

If I were you I would spend 90 bucks and get a flowmaster. I've had one on my car now for 3 years. You can ask anyone who's seen my car it sounds aggressive. I wouldn't waste your money on the SLP exhaust. Glad to hear you finally got it congrads and enjoy

Yes the Flowmaster sounds aggressive, but it is also loud IMOP. I want an exhaust that sounds good, but does not get annoying in everyday driving. Maybe I will change my mind when I see/hear some of your cars more. Jr has a flowmaster exhaust and it is way to loud for my liking. I can hear him half way across the base when he gets on it.
I ran Dynomax superturbo's on my mustang because I thought the Flowmasters were to loud.
Thanx for the money saving tip though.

Hey Ryan
Nothing against flow master except they rust after awhile.
The 2OTL is stainless steeel so it will be looking good and sounding good for years to come. The plus side is that it is a direct bolton with no guesswork.
