I just got my scanner in the mail yesterday but I can't get the damn thing to work. The scanner is a cannon with the USB connection. I connected it to the USB port on the computer installed the software. I try it and it says it can't find the scanner. In the Microsoft wizard it says it's operating properly. I have all of the tools and software to use it but It just won't work. I was thinking that maybe I had to asign one of the USB ports to the scanner but how and will it work. I need to just stick with working on cars.

Did you install the scanner program software?

I talked to cannon last night and they think the scanner is damaged so there sending me another one. They said I had to download the program from their web page this was for win xp. It didn't work so I called and they said do this do that and it's probably broke. I guess out of 7 pieces delivered through the mail I'm pretty lucky it was only the scanner that got broke. At least there going to replace it.
