That's all. Just happy, but also dread putting it in. Seems like every car I have bought for the last 4 cars I have had to put new clutches in. Maybe I need to learn how to drive........Naw, must be the cars :p
I plan on putting it in during one of these long weekends. I will probably do it my self at the hobbie shop on base. 99taws6, Any pointers? Things I should know before going in? Thanx

Mine is one of the LT1's that was done. It went very quickly actually. The only thing I know he learned on my car is that you don't have to remove the torque arm completely. Only take it off at the transmission mount bushing. Other than that, you need a really long extension for those bolts on the top of the tranny. I would offer to help but I will be on augmentee duty and I don't know my schedule yet.

Right now I am looking at the 27th or 28th of Dec. I have those days off for the holiday. As long as the hobby shop is open. I usually do all of my work in my driveway, but I figure why not use the lift and their heat. Who knows I may decide to do it on the 22. Have to see how my schedule is.

Well, I would suggest coming down to the Pulaski auto skills center. I know all the people there, so stuff is not a hassle, also they have the right tools...Tranny Jack, Long Extensions...etc....
Let me know, I can come up there if need be, but hey you are halfway to breaking it in when you drive home from here..... Let me know....

Since I have just recently been given good news (I won't be an augmentee yet), let me know and I'll help out. The craft shop in k-town is better though.

Dang, never seen so many people willing to do a clutch job. With all of you there I could get everything installed in one day.
Clutch - check
sparkplugs - check
fuel filter - check
underdrive pulleys - check
intake gasket - check
Pro 5.0 shifter - check
MAF ported - check
TB By-pass - check
Big stupid looking smile on my face :p - check, check
It would be like having my own personal pit crew.
What day is good for all of you? I was wanting to do it on the 27th at the Spangquinten hobby shop, but I would guess a lot of you are probably working that day. Give me an idea of what would be a good day and place. Right now we have Pulaski(also the name of my home town:) )barraks hobby shop or Spangquinten hobby shop. Let me know and I will check with the boss to see if I can make it. You know it just wouldn't be the same if I wasn't there.
Hey Jessie, isn't the x-mas party on the 22? I don't want to interfear with that.

Krazy, you can do the fuel filter, shifter, TB bypass in about hour max, where your car sits.
Port the MAF in front of the TV tonight, get a puller and do the crank pulley in about 20min tomarrow.
The intake gasket is cake, pop the intake with everything, scrap the gaskets, bada bing 1hr 1/2-2hrs
Then, it will take you about as long to do the plugs as Jeff or George to swap clutches:). Might not be a bad idea to replace the wires, or atleast the coil wire also

Yeah, but do it down at Pulaski, start in the morning, get it done and then goto the party. Makes for a good day.

True. I just didn't know what time the party was starting. It would defenitely give us something to talk about at the party.

I did my own clutch in my garage and the more people you have the quiker it'll be. If I can change it out by myself in 6.5 hours then with four people you could get the time down to 3-4 hours. Great time to unbolt the exhaust from the cat and punch that bad boy out!!!! Almost forgot watch out for george he may put your tranny in backwards J/k had to add the the inside joke.

I planned on doing the MAF this weekend actually. I don't think the wife would like me hacksawing and dremaling the MAF in front of the TV though.
The intake and TB bypass will be done at the same time. Probably do the plugs then too.
The crank and alt. pulley, and the shifter are x-mas presents so I need to wait till then to do it.
I figure the clutch and shifter will go in at the same time, since I will need to remove the shifter anyway. Plus I still need to do the skip shift mod. I figure it will be easy when the tranny is out.
The wires will have to wait. I plan on getting them soon though. It is cold as shat right now. I don't think I will last long standing out in my driveway trying to work on the car.

I hope the MAF works out for you. Have your tried someones yet to see how your car will react to it? Just ??'s because if you want to go back and are forced to buy a new one, you might want to price 'em before you cut yours up. My car smoked alittle afterwards to put it mildly. Rich? whos running rich?
For $50-75 bones you can get powder coated MAF ends that look sharp, and are alot smoother than you can probably do by hand. Just a thought
