I like your picture of the engine in your signature. I think this is the LT1 - very different to the LS1. I have had a look at you home page - lovely mods. What is the Hotchkis STB like? Has it got the detachable brackets? Does this compromise the effect of the STB. You choose Hotchkis for all your parts. I think they are expensive, but what are they really like? |

Thanx Jagsy: I've always thought that its a good thing the LS1 is powerful, cuz its butt ugly. The LT1 when dressed up, looks almost as good as the L98 with chromed intake. IMHO I have to confess, that I havent done anything to that page since I left Germany, and the car has changed some since then. I have some webspace sitting around that I plan to use in the near future for a new site. I really like the Hotchkis pieces, and with the STB there is a boost in front end control. For example take a turn that includes railroad tracks with and without the STB, and you'll notice the differance. It turns in much nicer with some chassis support. I just kept going with Hotchkis cuz I believe that these tuners (KB, BMR, G2, etc.) design they're susp pieces as a unit, so I didnt want to mix 'n match. Also, when I did my car there was no such thing as BMR. If I had to do it again, I would probably go the cheaper BMR route. As far as what the Hotchkis setup is like. STB helped, F/R swaybars = Gawd, turns in maybe to quick!! LCA/Panhard took care of the wheel hop nicely |

I have the hotchkiss STB also. I love it. Looks great, works great and it's easy to put in and out. The LS1 dresses up nicely with a set of FRCs and a TNT wet kit!! ![]() |

I think the TNT kit is alittle to busy personally. It pretty well destroyed the clean look of the engine bay, but it will add some "mojo" and thats the trade-off I guess. BTW, it isnt fully wired in yet, but that will just add to the underhood chaos. ![]() C'ya Rob |
