Dropped by the cars today ... hopefully, my friend will have his heater set up next week, so we can get to work on the '79 again ...
Took a look at the 'vert, too ... quite a bit of dust and some dirt on it ... it'll need some cleaning action in March ... checked the coolant (supposed to be good till -30C ... was still liquid), but the wiper fluids looked like Slush Puppy ... plus a bad surprise ... the battery was about half an inch wider on both sides ... :( (friend took a couple pics) Frozen solid ... remember, that's the battery that had been dead during Spring, and which is supposed to have been NEW in March ... took it directly to the dealer on my way home and complained about it ... He's going to check into it, hopefully I get a free replacement under waranty ... Oh well .. another 55 days hopefully until I drive it back home!

Just a quick update - went by the Opel dealer yesterday - and brought home a new battery ... well, the window is black on this one, too ... guess I'll probably drive by the car tonight and let it run a couple minutes ... after that, pull the battery back out until I get the car ... :) 2 more weeks ... hard to wait ... hope my BMR shipment comes in in time, so that I have all the work done on it by the time it turns March 1st ...

It's a good idea to take out the battery, and store it somewhere else, if it will be exposed to sub zero temperatures! :)
