Well a few weeks ago I put my clutch in. Only took 4 hours. What a difference! I have the Starr Spec stage 3 kevlar. It chatters when taking off, but it is livable. It definetly does not slip. The rear end hops when I power shift. I forsee a broken axle in my future. Well I put a good 800 break-in miles on the clutch and last weekend Jr and me went out to play a little and just drive around and enjoy the great weather. I finally got a little revenge on Jr for all of the past *ss whippings he put on me. He use to beat me by a car up to 100mph. Now I beat him by a car up to 100mph. I knew the old clutch was slipping, but I can't believe it made that much of a difference. We raced 2 times from a stop and 3 times from a 2nd gear roll. I won everyone of them. I am actually in shock still. I just can't believe that the clutch helped out that much. I'm not dogging Jr, just can't believe it. I think it gave him the last little push he needed to order his gears. So my high won't last long. I want to order gears, but I need new tires as mine are old and dry rotting. These tires are **cking expensive. I am looking at Firestone sz50's (think it is sz?) anyway they are $212 each!!! Cha-ching, empty wallet here, thank you. So much for the gears for now. Maybe in June for my B-day, but then it will be to late for over here, as I PCS in August. Anyway I will stop babbling, just bored at work and still can't believe the difference. Peace

I believe they are comp ta's or some sort of Comp tire thingy. I am not very impressed with them so I haven't really paid much attention to what they are. Sounds pretty bad, but I just never remember what they are.

with that clutch, you have to "unlearn" you old take off style. You have to release it alot faster than the stock, and you cant slip it coming out of 1st or reverse either, or the car will do the mamba.

The pedal feel and the ease that it comes out of each gear into the next with little to no force amazed me.

The tires are SZ50ep's, and they are worth it. I put on the Nitto 555, and to me they dont seem to be in the same league as the Firehawk's. But you have to try some things for yourself.

Yeah, I can't back up without the car jerking all over the place. It's the worst in reverse. People probably think I don't know how to drive, but I really don't care what they think because I love the performance it is giving me. The security forces at the gate must love it. My tires spin a little every time I come on base after showing them my ID. One of the cops jumped back like I was going to run him over? Whatever dude?

I am going to get the SZ50 ep's. All of the reviews I have read on them just blow the other tires off the road. I was just b*tching because of the price now I can't get my gears until later. If my 9 month old daughter didn't ride in the car I would chance it on these old tires, but I really don't have a choice as it is. Man, $800+ every year or two for tires!! That's alot of performance mods wasted on tires. :(

How come you just don't pick some tires up here? I've got a set of Falken 451's and only paid 700 bucks. SZ's are nice no lie and I have those on the car now w/ of 15K and still handle like new. I just pick the others up to have for another set of wheels. Nice tread and very wide. Hell later today if you are curious as to what the look like I'll post it on the members page for you to see.

It'll be up after 8pm tonight.

Yes you did, and that's one of the main reasons I went with it. Did you get your car back yet? Spang is crawling in Zs now. I see them everywere. You need to get your car up here and start regulating. Can't have all of the new kids thinking they own this base :) Peace

How good do the Falkens grip? Cornering and straight line? Someone I know has the kumos supra or what ever they are called, but it's the Kumos and they suck. Every one says they are great, but they aren't all that and a bag of chips...more like the crumbs at the bottom of the bag. Plus they only last him a year and they are almost bald. I am pretty much sold on the SZ's. I have never heard one bad comment about them. I will just suck it up and place the order here in the next month or so. Wanna play...you gotta pay :)

Can't say for sure but from what others have said they're equivalent to the SZ's I'll let you know soon for sure.

Well the pick will be up in like 2 mns in the member section.

Dam I turn my back for two seconds and I get stabbed in the back!! I'm just messing with you Krazy! But for all to know..... I had a torn intake boot at the time that I didn't know about at the time... so before I do my headders and my gears.... I just want to see if that was it. But I don't think that's all that clutch of yours really made a difference.... same with when Dave did his... I was able to take him until he did his clutch! Good job kicking my arse!!!

quit setting this guy up hawk. He is gonna need a extra 50 hp just to over come his weight problem.

Not hating on you Jr. your car looks good, and obviously runs really hard, but its a vert, and a auto at that.

Oh I see since I don't have a M6 or a hard top my car isn't going to be as fast as anyone else's huh? Just remember it's not only the type of car that you have but it's also how much green you're willing to dump in it... and I'm quite willing to... just so I can go out there and take down all of those M6 hard tops............. I'm not trying to be an a$$ hole but I hate it when people try to down on my car because it's an auto vert....

I didn't know verts were heavier... Scott, don't worry man. My cousin has a '95 vert, and it would smoke anyone in this club!! Without a doubt... ;)

settle down buddy, that probably came across wrong, and for that I apologize. But facts are facts, and you will need to do more.

Your doing that, and thats great. I guess I will put myself on time out now.

Scott has been very touchy lately. Don't know why,(maybe PMS) but he has been very defensive toward his car. I personally love his car. Not much of a vert man myself because of the added wieght and lose of structural integrity (not that T-tops are much better!). But I do think his car is quick and looks sweet as hell. I am a sucker for silver though. If the price was right I would strip my car down and paint it silver or a nice blue. "Arrest Me Red" paint just isn't my style. I don't need my car to get attention for me, I get in enough trouble myself. I am just trying to say that some people are very sensetive about their cars and believes. Others can take constructive criticism and use it to grow. Scott you should know I respect you, but the truth is any car in convertable form wieghs more than the same car in hard top form, meaning that if you compare the two cars the vert will have to put more "green" into his car to compete. Obviously you are willing to do this, so why would you even take his previous statement as an insult in be on me? In closing I would like to say "your balls are showing"

(only know one place to safely prove it though) You should not bring a knife to a gun fight LOL I am talking smack and not trying to affend anyone. I plan to back it up though who wants to play???

Just want to say again, sorry I raised your blood pressure. I wasnt knocking your car/you/or your plans, just making a reality check. You are and always will be the underdog. Baxtor is the exception not the rule with his 9sec vert. Also autos typically dyno 220-230rwhp vs. 250-260rwhp for the M6's.

It would be like me saying "oh your vette has a LT1, well..I have a LT1 so we must be the same"... not

Its great that your willing to drop the green into your car. This is coming from someone that has over 10k in mods at last count. Keep fanning the flame and then victory is so much better when you come out on top because you worked so hard to get there.

Just a word of advice when you get back to the tracks in the states. Chill people will talk sh#t and get in your head. Once they did that, you've already lost.

seriously though, you dont know me, I dont know you, so who cares what I think, you know what you got.

Keep on keeping on
Rob
