Which one of you trans guys knows the owner of the yellow 3rd gen trans am I've seen around lately? Hard to miss since it's so bright. He parks in the same two places that are close to trans.

I know him. JR knows him too. He's not new, he just finally brought his car out. He hasn't done anything to the engine. He just redid the body work and painted it and redid the interior. He says he is not into the "GO" thing right now, he is into the "SHOW". He works part time at the shop in Biensfeld. He's a good guy. Right now they have him working in the GP shop.

Yeah, I know who you are talking about now. Man that thing is bright. I remember seeing it before and it is a lot better now.

Whats the deal w/ your ride Dave? I'm heading down there after work today to work on mine. I'm feeling pretty good today so I believe today is my lucky day.

The engine is here, but unknowing to me until this week, unassembled (I would have sworn that I was ordering a fully assembled 383 short block, but who knows). Tony is busting his ass working on it every day to get it together by this weekend. I'm on leave again all next week, so I'll be down their monday night. HAS to get done next week or I will have to inop it. I start ALS on the 15th, regestration expires on the 19th.

I know the 3rd gen your talking about, several months ago, I met him on the back road from trier, driving like a grandma. So I passed up up just past the Rhot (not sure of spelling) turning on the straight going up the hill.
So hopefully you should have a car soon then Dave. Cool. What's up with your beast John?

Hate to be the bearer of bad new Dave but you 383 hasn't even been picked up let alone assembled by Tony. I just came from down there less than a hr ago. Now unless he's assembling this block elsewhere and not in the workshop then maybe so. However speaking w/ Rod and Red they said he hasn't even gone down there to pick it up. And I even asked Tony himself you pick it up yet and this was 4 days later after you found out it arrived and has just to clear customs and he said "nah".
Now I'm gonna give you a tip and take it for what it's worth. Unless you go down there and show a interest in your own engine ie, work on the little stuff, etc....don't expect Tony to do anything. He likes people that are hands on and more importantly you have to go down there and physically see if there is any progress. Notice I never shot you any pics? Ain't nothing to take pics of.........

Ok. Well here's my take on it. I have been in contact with Tony just about every day for the last week and a half. I have 100 percent confidence in what he tells me. So that is that. I am going down monday to work on it.

Man, I hope you are right Dave. I know if I was in your situation, I would be P*SSED OFF if he was lying. I would get something in writing stating what he was suppose to do and a time frame for it. Now I don't know Tony nor have I ever even spoken with him, but this sounds all to typical of a shady work shop. Please let us know what you find out. Best of luck!

I'll see you Monday then. I'll be there too for a hot minute after work.....Hope to see you then.
NOT trying to start nothing I'm just stating the facts. Tony's a good guy so I'll clear that up if they're are misconceptions out there of him. But I was there and there ain't no block in sight let alone the rotating assembly. Now if he pulls it off in 2 days then he's the man. I'd just thought I'd let you know...since you cell is never on this was the only way of contacting you.

Now I've never actually ordered a complete motor (ahhh....Beck racing..drool) but, common sense tells me that if a tuner shop went to the problems of notching and clearancing the block, they wouldnt then un-assemble, pack each piece individually and ship it 3-4 thousand miles.
For the amount of dough invested, you really need to get deeply involved in everything from crate opening to engine cranking.
Especially if you didnt personally order everything. Being pesimistic by nature, I see red flags all over the place, but this doesnt even sound right.
I'm not wishing bad things or talking down this Tony guy, cuz I've never used him. (maybe it was that $400 that he quoted me for labor on installing ring and pinion, that scared me away) but dayamn man, Dayamn.
