Does that scanner you have, is it portable so we could make a few runs with it hooked up to my car and we can see why it is using so much gas? If so do you think we can do it this weekend? I have no idea how to read all those outputs or where they should be. Also, is there anyone who can do good muffler work there? Thanks, Jeff |

Hope I'm not too late. Dude I'm booked this weekend man. I got a gear install with a buddy planned and I need to align my car due a geometry change made last weekend. Then on sunday I need to clean up my damn house cuz my wife's coming home for a visit ![]() If you want you can come down saturday and I'll take a few mins and we can check it out if you like. I'll be able to tell if it's in open or closed loop right there in tha parkin lot. I can't really commit to alot of time with it though dude. I've told this dude I'd help him already. What did you want to diagnose? just whether it's stayin in clsd loop? you got a check engine light on ? |

[quote]is there anyone who can do good muffler work there?/quote] On saturday no. during the week you can get Jack over at Kapaun/Vogelweigh to do exhaust work. If you want custom stuff I'm not sure if he can or would do it though. I've seen a roll cage install he did once... very nice work. |

No no check engine light. But just wanting to see how its running, and why is the MPG so low. Its a Ed Wright program and I want to see if he hit it dead on. Too rich/lean, O2 outputs, block learns, lt bank vs.rt bank ect. Maybe have you show me how to read one good? If you'd rather wait thats fine with me. Jeff |

Reading a scan tool is pretty straight forward. Do you know what values the chip/program is supposed to display? My scantool is pretty simple but it does show snapshot data and realtime values on sensors and stuff. It will show BLM and integer values (short term) But what good will seeing these values do if you don't know what the custom program is supposed to be showing? I guess if you were way out and away from 128 that would be a red flag. I know for sure we can find out if your vehicle is jumping out of closed loop or not. As for interpreting a custom program? Hummmmm. better leave that to a programmer. But dude, I'll be glad to hook the scanner and see what's up. |

I used to have a little scanner that piggy backed a HPP+ but I have long sold it. I know a few little things about them but not a whole lot. Like the o2 used to bounce alot, I know they are supposed to but how do you know where to read it? |
