I can't believe it, I just read my online credit card statement noticed that Scoggin-Dickey charged me $165 for shipping. I bought quite a few things from them but nothing of excessive size or weight.

lets see I bout a LT4 intake, piston rings, engine cleaning brushes, 5 sets of bolts (bod bolts, head bolts, rocker studs, etc..), cam handle, cam install tool and cam bearings, vlaves, intake gaskets, and a valve height mic. I don't know about you but last time I looked at an engine and parts the largest piece (I bought) was the intake. Now why is it I can have a complete set of brakes and rotors sent here for much less than that, or how about a set of heads sent for, I believe, less than $50 and I order from them and it is $165.

This was the thrid strike, first they took three weeks to send out my order since according to them some stuff was not there yet, then calling them is a hassel since no one answers, and now this.

I wrote them a nasty gram stating my dissatifaction since calling them is about useless. No responce yet. Last night I finally get ahold of them by phone on like my 5th try and an hour later, they said shipping cost was due to the fact that the stuff was heavy and it was shipped out in three boxes. OK first off why did my order take so long to be sent if it was three boxes, couldn't they have sent most of my order right away and what was back ordered later? and second off as I was talking to him I had quotes on screen from USPS of a large box weighing 70 POUNDS and it would only cost $33. His quote was "I don't know why then. I continued to tell him that I had as I said brakes and rotors, and heads sent which cost me well under what they charged me. Third of all you would think a courtesy call/e-mail for one the delay and for two the high shipping cost could haver been the least they could do, Yea right!!

Their way of solving this was to split the shipping with me which is great but I think it is still more than I should have paid but I am satisfied with it. My whole purpose of this vent session was to let you guy and girls (if any) know what I went through with this company and shipping to an APO address through them. Make me wonder how many other people had this happen or if I was just a lucky candidate.

OK I am done venting!!

John

Don't feel to bad. I paid $198 S/H on a rotating assy. from Speed-O-Motive. They put the crank in a seperate box and that one cost me $98 S/H. Sucks being over seas trying to do the hor rod thing. Just got to grin and bear it!

I want a damn z-style hood, but I'm not paying $300 for shipping. I might try to bring it back on the plane with me when I come back after Christmas vacation... :D

I recognize that name John, but who is he? How can you get a hood here for less than $150? If you know please tell me.

...doesn't a hole sea container cost about 600???
lets all get together, fill it up til top with orders, have somebody going to or living in the states stiff it up til top and send everything over here once or twice a year...

I know this will never happen, but that would be the solution to make them think about their shipping costs...

just paid 70 for shipping the headers and ordered rotators at a different company, do not know yet what they will charge and 150 for a torque wrench but the tool was only 70.

I can just see that 747 with an SS style hood cunningly strapped to the nose and the pilot wondering what made his plane so fast...
