My mustang meet got rained out, and I was pretty bummed, but my new neighbor was out cruising and stopped by. Long story short I sold him 2 nitrous kits and a alternator, and he took me for a ride. His car is a 1986 mustang with the street motor in it. Its a 331 smallblock running 14.5:1cr with a 2700 stall. Basically its a certified chasis/frame for 8 sec runs, fully tubbed with a glide running 4.56's out back. He stalled it out, and I found out how much stick'tchen slicks have even on the street. WOW!!!! Anyway, he takes me to his house to show me the motor he is dropping in it in the next couple weeks. Here is the major players Robert Yates Heads, fully ported/extrude honed - $7k Jack Roush Intake - $500 Jack Roush R block - $3k fully forged high buck rotating assembly Direct port NOS jetted for 300hp with dedicated fuel pump/supply NOS fogger jetted for 150hp Basically over 20k in motor alone. In a couple of words, F***ING AMAZING!!!! I cant wait for the Ford/Buick shootout next week. Another of his friends is planning on running, with a motor that this guy guarantees will turn a 8.0x@140-150. Man I have a long way to go |
