I made a very stupid mistake this week and boy, did it hurt. When I fitted my rear BMR sway bar, one of the axle U-bolts snapped and I had to use an exhaust U-bolt. Because I'm diligent, I thought I'd repace the two brackets so ordered them from a UK American parts supplier who is ordinarily very good. I worked on the basis of 'how expensive could they be?' and didn't ask the price, just quoted my card details.I got an invoice this morning for....wait for it....77 pounds. I kid you not. One nut was 6.90 plus 17.5% VAT! Needless to say, i tried to cancel but he said it was too late, the parts would have been despatched. The more fool me. I guess I should have tried the Chevy dealer first. I'm more annoyed that the supplier didn't ring me back to check that I really wanted to spend 77 quid on two goddam bolts before he blithely ordered them. He's lost my business on that point alone.
