Does anyone know if it is safe.... or is anyone currently running slicks on the stock rear end? Mine isn't completely stock I'm running a 3.73 gears... high perf bearings and the TA rear end cover... but I still have the stock axles and carrier... but before I spend the $$ on some slicks I just want to make sure the rear isn't going to blow on me... Later all! |

well, guess the weakest link will give - if the tires aren't, something else will ... from what I read before, stock rear end and slicks don't mix too well ... |

Be careful if you do go with the slicks. My stock rear with 3.23 didn't enjoy my drag radials at the track and let it be known on the autobahn. I am very lucky that the rear didn't lock up. I made it home (barely) only to find that the pinion gear broke apart. |
