Post subject:  ROY, THANKS!

Roy,
Just wanted to say thanks for the help on Saturday. The shift light works GREAT!!!! I found out this morning (at 0400) that the light is very INTENSE on the eyes. I'm glad I got a blue one, I can only imagine what the red is like. There is no missing it when it comes on. Thanks again for taking time away from the family to help me out!!

P.S. Looking at the new LGM cam, stock heads w/headers, pulley, and custom tuning is turning out 400+RWHP!!!! The camkit is right around $800 for complete kit(springs, retainers, pushrods, etc) What do you think????

what are the specs on the cam?

Here's the specs on the cam 232/240 .590/.609 112. On m6 cars it's making over 400 RWHP with stock LS1 heads and bolt ons. They say it's even higher w/heads. I tried to paste in the link for the post from LS1Tech but it didn't work. If you go to LS1Tech.com go to internal engine and look for "Would LG'S G5X-2 cam work well in a A4" and "Cam ONLY results 2001 A4 Vette w/G5x-2" that one has the actual dyno results posted.

That's a big cam for a 346ci LS1 w/ a lot of lift. Heads will most definetly be required w/ that kind of lift.

Silas,
LG says they used stock LS1 heads, check out the post on LS1Tech, I was surprised too to see it.

Good bye valve springs.

Roy,
I hear ya on the valve springs. From what I understand they use a double valve spring to prevent the "breakage". There was talk of having to replace the springs every so often, to much work just to have that kind of power. I still think that buying the LS6 heads and 02 ZO6 cam is the safe way to go!!
