Good news on the UK new car front. Auto Express released potential pictures of the new Vauxhall GT Coupe which is slated to replace the VX220 next year. Out goes the mid-engine pseudo-Elise and in comes a Pontiac Solstice/Buick Bengal based front-engined aluminium panelled coupe that looks very much like a mini Vette/Viper GTS. It looks the business.
The trouble is that the UK is looking at a 2.2, a 2.2 turbo and a 250bhp 2.8V6 but the States is looking at 2 more V6's up to a 300bhp 3.6V6 and a V8 is also on the cards. Sounds brilliant. I don't have any pics to post but it looks like a panacea to GM's recent programme of ugly cars like the Vectra and Signum monstrosities. Hope the UK gets the V8 in due course.
