We will have tomorrow here drag racing competition held on city street. Of course it's closed for traffic and security is ok !

The problem is, that pavement there is old and very slippery and little bit uneven. And I'm wondering what kind of tire pressure works best in such case ? I'm running 16" BFG DR's.

I have decided already not to remove audio equipment, which puts appr. 80 lbs load on rear axle as it seemed to help a lot, when I made some tests there. Anyway, awd cars will have advantage, but I try to do my best to keep up with those audis and beemers.

I was running between 17 to 21 psi in my 16" BFG Drag Radials when I used to race in Pirmasens. The track there was pretty bad, not much traction due to the rough surface. My best times were made when I did only a small burn-out. Just 1 to 2 seconds long is PLENTY. All you are doing is "cleaning" the surface of the tire. You do not have to heat them up to make them sticky. Overheat them and they turn greasy. If you over do it, you will spin all the way down the track. I learned this the hard way. :x If they have a water box for the burnouts, try to avoid it. The front tires will drip water on the start line. BFG DR tires do not need to go in the water. Good luck.

Thanks, I will start with 21 and go lower if neccesary. Regards the overheating, I know what you mean - made once Joch Force type burnout and couldn't hook at all.:)

Tomorrow evening I will have the results.
