Today, a 60+ year old guy ran into two street cafes, injuring 10 people, partly seriously. Police investigating found he had an alcohol level of 1.8 ... oh, and in order to be on topic here: He drove a 4th gen Camaro 'vert, red ...

I hope the innocent victims will be OK soon ... and that the idiot driver has at least enough human blood in his alcohol to suffer from the thought of what he did.

I am not holier-than-thou, I did that stupid thing, too. But my consequence has been to stop drinking all together.

Let's see, 60+ year old drunk in 4th Gen plowing into people at two street cafes.

It is quite obvious that this guy has some type of problem, among them being some sort of mid life crisis.

So many people take it for granted until it happens to them. It is not even worth it to put yourself in that position.

On top of it, driving a powerful sports car with a reduced mental clarity (which the driver is often unaware of this because their body has developed tolerance to alcohol) is totally stupid and only asking for trouble, which eventually happens.

I did not check out the news release, but this guy has some underlying issues/ personal problems. Many times this has been the most contributing factor among drivers who should know better.

If you drink, don't even touch the keys, or you car, get a taxi, or bus or train, or simply have a responsible, designated driver drive you.

It is that simple. And it works, tried and tested by myself and others

Some people just don't get it. They think that they will be okay and they self deny their intoxication, which is a classic symptom of alcoholism.

Some people really need professional help. I have been through some stages in my life which I was a high risk for this- my personal life was crippled due to a demanding professional life-having gone through a couple dissappointing relationships which have basically left me emotionally paralyzed for the rest of my life-on top of that having a bad antisocial streak(I am sorry, I am not perfect) doesn't help,

and now at the age of 33, Things are ingrained too much in my head. I am afraid this leopard will never change his spots.

People like that guy need to talk to someone, even it's just a friend before they get behind the steering wheel, because once they do (legally speaking) it is already too late.

I also do not drink anymore and if I do my body does no longer have a tolerance for it. And I am just 130 pounds soaking wet so it goes straight to my brain.

The guy went to court today ... they trying him for attempted murder in 8 cases ... going to have some 11 court days ... said he had 2.1, not 1.8 as posted earlier ...

well, he states the car was defective ... sure, that's why he not only hit people in the cafe on ONE side of the road, but also on the OTHER side of the road. Yeah, right, the car was defective - it didn't stop working when the @sshole got behind the wheel drunk ...
Btw, he might be facing up to 15 years in jail...
