First reports seem to explain it with a power outage caused by an overload of a Niagara power grid ... wonder how much power they make up there if several large cities are affected ... |

Yes but there also is a power plant in NY on fire, is what they first said. Can not be responsible for all outage though,... maybe as a backup it was overloaded when the big one shut down. |

yup, at least that's what they suspect right now ... just a result of the main outage ... hopefully ... |

while I was watching the CNN news on this, my electricity went out for about a minute... strange feeling - for a moment I was getting close to panic (was from the thunderstorm here in germany - but at THAT moment...) and then my computer was killed from the outage, took me a while to get it back running. |

no biggie... on CNN's map it looked like a pretty big area! would be like half of germany, parts of france and whatever without electricity... difficult to imagine. Guess we do not have such big power plants tied in to each other, everything is a little smaller over here. But they will learn. And improve. ![]() (of course now the terrorists know where they 'want' to hit next time ![]() |

But they will learn. And improve. ![]() (of course now the terrorists know where they 'want' to hit next time ![]() this was supposed to have been fixed after the '77 black out. The plants werent supposed to domino like they did. I dont feel real bad for them, its summer and they are already coming back on line. OKC area was without power in some places for weeks last winter. We just have the rabid excess of consumption of everything, and sometimes we get bit. |
