Just checked with my insurance (two cars with 17 resp. 13 years accident free insured) about getting additional coverage for another car ... they wouldn't make a deal, all they would give me was a rate of 2 years accident free (85% rate). So I checked with another I've seen adds for that start additional cars at the same rebate rate as your first car ... asked how I could do it (expecting I'd have to have the car that I used for the rebate insured with them) as I can't get out of my other insurance before Dec 31. He said - no problem, first car doesn't need to be insured with them in order to use the same rebate rate - all they need is the insurance number and insurer, and I get my rebate ... so here I go, saving some €300+ per year on the insurance by using my Camaro rebate ![]() Guess that kind of deal is hard to beat! |

Nice job, Garry. That goes to show you why you don't just go with the first offer, or lack thereof... ![]() BTW, how's the stb? Did you notice a drastic difference? |

Well, after fixing some rust spots on the bottom I put it in and only took a 5min spin, without any serious driving ... seemed more solid in front, though, but my objective point of view might be a bit degraded by driving the Jeep too often lately ![]() |

I found having a kid and getting a mini-van really drops the insurance on the camaro. |

Get yet another car. Having more cars than drivers helped me out. Once we got the 3rd car, rates dropped slightly, 4th car and they stayed about the same. The 5th one did add a little to my premium. Total, about $150 per month, including full coverage on a 2000 Dakota. Yes, I own five opperational cars over here. Just takes a bunch of paperwork and signatures. Not living on post helps... HI. My name is Kevin and I'm a caraholic... |

Well, in today's economy and the way many companies are treating their customers, it's nice to find a good deal, especially with an insurance! Of course, I don't know how their quality is when some claims have to be handled, but as I only need it for liability (no use in full coverage for a 12-year old beater), I don't think it's too much of a problem ... hope I never have to find out ... ![]() |

My insurance guy told me to pay my deductiable on the Z ($200) and have it turned into the body/paint shop and get all dents, scratches, ugly spots, etc. fixed, then get a fresh coat of paint and my rims re-poweder coated. Like he said, I leave in November, its a german ins. company, and its not like the "bad record" will follow me back to the states. |

Hm ... not sure, but unless your car looks like it's been in an accident, I don't think the insurance will just go and pay your early spring cleaning of the car ... also, they will most likely want to send someone to look at it before you have anything done ... |

Oh, it has deffinatley been in an accident. A little bump on the nose and dented hood. The company that's fixing it (contracted through this ins. company) said they do not fix, they replace! They already have the parts. Plus, they are painting the whole car due to trying to match new paint with the originial paint. I was playing too hard one night and let my lead foot get the better of me. I got an easy kill against a Neon R/T and decided to show off a little and run a "victory lap." |
