Holy $hit guys, this thing sounds like a fugging MONSTER. He started it up in the garage, and every hair on my body STOOD UP! I can not believe how good it sounds. There's absolutely NO back pressure, or back firing, whatsoever. I want so badly to take it out and just listen to her all night long. I almost set off this guys car when I coasted by it in front of my house. I can't wait to let you all hear it...

Great. Glad to hear you finally got it back. Remember, you can't beat on it all the time. They will take a lot, but only so much. How far could you run full out??? By the way, do you have a Pro 5.0 shifter in your car? If so, I would like to check out the feel sometime. How do you like it? I'm thinking about getting a shifter next spring. I don't know whether I want a Pro 5.0, B&M Ripper, or just a Lou's Short Stick for mine. Just would like to see how it shifts. Have fun with your Baby. |

Yes, I have the Pro 5.0 with Lou's short stick. I had the B&M and I can promise you that the 5.0 is much better. It is absolute positive shifting at it's finest. I would never go back to stock after having either of these shifters!

Sweet! I was wondering if your car was done just the other day. Now I know! So how does she feel? Gain any power from the rebuild or is it about the same? Again congrats to you Jack. Maybe if the weather holds up we can go cruise and break them both in! Wishfull thinking on my part as she won't be ready til EOM at earliest. |

John, I don't know yet, because I am so scared to do anything with her now, for fear of breaking her again. After all the money I've spent fixing her, I could have bought two sets of those stinkin' Fikses!  I'm still in the break-in period, anyway. I might be able to tell you soon, if it doesn't snow first.. She sure sounds louder, that's fo sho!

That's cool. If it's louder you definetly got some compression back. I wouldn't romp on it just yet but to properly break it in various by builder. Some say romp on it the minute you get it and others say keep it under 4k rpm's but keep alot of load on it.... alot of shifting the gears basically to keep it in is pwr band. I kinda did both this go around. For me if she's gonna break she's gonna break no matter what I do. |

Man, it's already time to get a new clutch disk.. This sucks. I just can't catch a break.. Oh well, at least it's Winter, and I won't feel so bad seeing her sit like that.

Amen John. With todays roller motors it isn't as important to go though the lengthy break in as the old flat tappet motors. My theory is break it in like you stole it. It's no fun if you have to baby it ever time you get behind the wheel. |

Jack what you mean by new clutch? How old is the clutch you have? Sure he didn't torque it right? I'm talking from experience here w/ my less than 1K mile street twin that he put in the after it went down. You may want to have him redo it again. Unless of course you knew it was on it's way out anyway being the stocker? I'd double check though. He almost toasted mine. Sup Hotrod?! |

Well John, he showed me the disk before he put it back in, and said it was pretty much gone, but I thought it still might be good for a while. Shows how much I know about clutches.. It's over two years old now, so I guess with the way I drive, I was lucky to have had it this long. The pads on the disk are almost even with the disk.. Oh well, now I know what i'll be buying next. This just sucks because the disk is the most expensive part of the clutch, at $430...

Congrats Jack LS1 are pretty tough but I manage to break them also. Now I puut puut! Bottom line the cost/ work ratio to fun factor kicked my a$$. good luck! |
