Well I got my 9inch todayand if I am lucky enough I wont have to shorten it . It is 54 inches and I think 8.8 is the same. ( roy you can chime in on that one) It has 3.89 gears with a 31 spline posi plus I just got the 31 spline detroit locker to go with it. I will have it con verted for my car in June. Plus I go to pick up another center section with a highway gear and posi in it. No here is the kicker with everything including the extra center and converting it cost.....650 dollars. Damn I am good. I spent all day wheeling and dealing. Now if I could just find me a viper t-56 for it my car will be totaly bullit proof. I should have that by this winter. Got to have the drive train to suport 650 plus horses. Roll cage is in order before the 9 goes in. I am going with a 6 or 8 point with removable door bars so I dont have to climb over it every time I want to drive it. So all in all i had a good day.

That is what I am thinking just hope my lick continues with the Camaro. I start putting it back together this week. I am going to pick the heads up on Tuesday. I am considering changing Cams again or going with a bigger stall convertor. The Car is nice and hate to get rid of it but it must go to help finance the rest of my plans for my car. It should sale really fast here a lot of people have been asking about it. And I am selling really cheap. But knowing me when I get it back on the road I will fall in love with it again and will have a desperate inner conflict about it.(whoas me)

There is 9 inches out there you just got to look for them. It doesnt cost a lot to convert them to your car either. If I bought one from moroso it would cost me 2400 dollars. I am willing to put some elbow grease into anything to save my self 1800 dollars. And I dont have to rush to put it in my car my 8.8 is in perfect condition. So I have plenty of time to make it look all pretty before I put it in the car. Plus I still need a good set of 5 lug wheels now to go with them. I know someone who is selling Chrome Cobra Rs for 350 dollars.

I'm pretty sure it's easier to convert them to your car than ours.

just realize not all 9in are equal meaning stock hollow axels will only hold 450 Hapees with slicks. I got a 9in + with upgraded 31 spine hardend solid axels set up is good for 800 Hapees 3:89 gears rock.

I already got a bead on that with a set of moser 31 splines for it. I wasnt even going to chance stock axles.

I had ford explorer CD brakes installed 419.95
Flex line 36.95

This should take alot of the work out of a custom rear end for you I have the Specs on the AXELS and housing if you need them.

I went with the 9" because it does not have c clips and this setup is good for 800Hapees and worry free 4800+ launches. 12 bolts are good for 550 and the upgrades were more expensive and harder to work on. These guys would not reccomend the 12 bolt with my setup because I was too close to that number with a M6.

Is that it Bruce? Just kidding. Why didn't you go with the 1350 yoke? I know you're getting a forged one now, but I'm just curious. How much did that new yoke cost you, anyway?

Oh, and why didn't you go with the Moser?

One more question, why the Explorer brakes? Did it come with the calipers and the rotors?

the 1350 yoke would require 35-40 spline axels very heavy and would eat more power to turn them. I got the explorer brakes because I did not want to assemble the rear when it got here. However the could have hooked it up for me. Yes it cam ready to bolt in brakes cross drilled roters and John helped me that night it was a couple long hrs getting that joker in there.

Hmm. Have you heard of the Denny's driveshaft? It has a lifetime warranty against twisting and/or broken welds. Does the IE DS have a liftetme warranty?

Nah, it probably doesn't even have a warranty. Plus, the others at least look good, at only a couple bucks more. :)
