I've been stationed overseas since 1988 (Japan, Korea, and Germany), therefore I'm pretty much atuned to the whole mail order thing. But I guess I've managed a string of good luck, since I've never, ever received the wrong part in the mail...until this week.
As everyone pretty much probably knows, I'm diligently trying to get the 3.1 back together, in the car, and sold (with a Sept DEROS over my head at that). So the timing couldn't be worse to be cursed by the "Wrong Part Fairy". The two things I need most to just get the damn engine in the car have been the absolute worst things to order and receive. First was the pilot bushing for the crank. The box I received had bearings in it alright...160 needle bearings for a New Process transfer case, 10 packs of 16 each. That was Tuesday. Then today, finally, the backordered freeze plugs came in after two weeks. Oh, there were freeze plugs in the box...for a Chrysler 4 banger. So there the engine sits, quietly waitng for the most minute (and correct) parts to arrive so the job can be completed.
Now, I know everyone has their own horror so I'll just say this...I feel your pain...albeit, 16 years later

.
I need a beer...
