Anyone know what the tally was for this event in Houston? Would be interesting to see who came out on top. |

Oops, just found a thread on this over at Hardcore50, and it isn't until the end of the month. I thought it was earlier. However, it does sound like there's some serious Mustang players attending. |

Really there arent any big hitters coming down for that event, because they arent legal. That is what the fuss is about with freddie, he isnt allowing 302's or 351's, but the LT1/LS1 can bring out there 422's. I understand why the mustang guys arent allowed to bring out any guns, because it would get lope sided real fast, but I think it will be a good show nonetheless. The fastest 2V and fastest LS1 in Texas are within a few hundredths of each other. What they are talking about is TT5, there is some bad blood between Kyle and all the mustang guys. Brandon Dominey is probably the fastest 10.5 car on the lot, and he is the odds on favorite to be the first car in the 7's with the Clash rule package. Crede Young isnt a joke either. But you heard it first, I'm going down with the evil black coupe driven by Chris Derrick again. Last April we had 'em covered by .5, and broke a axle to Crede in the money round. Nobodies talking about it, cuz they dont know it yet ![]() BTW I shoot the videos for Freddie and the Clash Site, so its a good bet I'll get some coverage of the 4.6/5.4 vs. LT1/LS1 gig. Cya Rob |

Rob will be Rob! So I take it that fbody guys are the organizers of this event or something? Why else wouldn't the big Ford strokers be allowed in it??? ![]() |

I didn't mean big blocks, I just meant strokers... No strokers? Please explain how you can run that fast on a stock block? |

Jack, maybe you missed the part earlier where I said that the LS1/LT1's would be allowed to bring they're 422's, impling strokers were allowed. I dont know anyone with a stroked 281, I suppose there are some tucked away in a cave somewhere in northern maine, but? The arguement they had was that the mustangs would not be allowed to bring "they're" guns (meaning the 302/351 based motors) and the GM guys could bring out their heavy hitters. I think it is just typical racer arguing, and if the modulars get smoked, then maybe they better step up next time. Making that power on a stock 302 or 351 block is childs play. A 302 wont last very long making more than 500hp, but at that level who cares, the 302 block becomes a wear item just like clutches or brakes. A 351 is good well over 1000. Then if you want to get real fancy, you buy what I did. A siamesed R351, and your block worries fade away. |

WOO HOO. We ran 9.90 on motor last night at the Tulsa test and tune. For those of you confused, this is a full on nitrous motor, so with a n20 cam on motor that is HUGE!!! For a point of reference, Dennis LaRouche's car (local coupe) ran 10.16 on motor but 8.50 on juice. you add the 400hp hit that we run, on top of a 9.90.... go ahead and make the check out. |

forget what you have learned. These are not street motors. running a 40 jet on the first stage then hitting it with a 68 on the plate for the second stage is standard data. the engines are 14:1 and built to take a nuclear bomb. The cool thing is on the digi 7 you can tune timing to the cylinder allowing you to stop the corners from leaning out. We are running a small shot in the grand scheme. 7's however would take alittle more than we have ![]() I'll give you the run down after tonight. I'm really interested in Jeff Dalley's camaro. We are hoping it will be the first N20 car to run 200mph+ with the help of neverlift's nitrous tuning. Here is Jeff's car. The cool ass in the back with the glasses is the "General" Ray leslie my engine builder and buddy. The guy in the lanes squatted down is Don Dial's, chassis builder extrodinaire. This was a 7.55 run at San Antonio. The photographer is.....well, me ![]() ![]() |

Well, it was a pitiful turnout. What can you expect for such a short notice race I guess. I didnt pay alot of attention because I was busy, but it looked like 5 or 6 LS1/LT1's and a even number of Mustangs (no lightnings). Bottom line, the LS1/LT1 pounded them front back and forward. There was a very cool Vette on juice running bottom 10's, and a Fbody running in the 9's. The rest of the cars with the exception of 2 Cobras (01 and 03) running 10.ohs were wasting lane time running 13's. One thing I didnt understand were the rules. It was almost like they were averaging times over 3 runs???? nobody got eliminated, and at the last lane call, only the 2 Cobras showed up then ran each other??? Hopefully this event will take shape. Most of the cars that could have competed in this (except the 5.0's) ran true street, probably because the $400 payout was better. There was a 99 Camaro slaying them in 12.00 index, he ran spot on 12.0x every single time. Quote from Jack - Do you do any of the working on the cars? I finally read what you said ![]() ![]() |
