1999 Z28

current mileage: 52000km = 32318 mls

best: 24.7 MPG (9,5l/100km)
worst: 14.0 MPG (16,7l/100km)
worst (on race track): 7.8 MPG (30l/100km)

Ben, get a LIFE!!!

I don't pay gazillions of Euros for a car so that I have to monitor the fuel consumption and save 2 Euro per 100km. When the tank is empty I fill it up.

BAWHAHA Exactly !!! Reminds me of the people on the streets who come up to me and ask how much gas this "big amerikanische motor" eats LOL ... Does that only happen to me or do people ask you that too ? :D

Hm ... not that I'd really watch out for it too much ...
Best mileage on my vert: 8.3L/100k (496km distance driven, 34.1mpg) and 8.4L/100k (582km distance, 33.6mpg) ... average 30.2 mpg / 9.34L/100km ...

But don't ask about the jeep ... ;)

I don't do that regularly but what's the problem if you calculate it e.g. once a month? Takes a few seconds, not more... :roll:

I wasn't interested in the numbers for a Porsche anyway... :P just wanted to compare other Fbodies to my Fbody.

93Z 68K on the body 3K on the engine. 7.8 mpg @ 165mph. :D Top speed classified. City driving? 16mpg if that. LOL Seriously I don't know but I know I can get 200 to a tank if I'm creeping @ 65mph.

OK Ben here it is.
2001 without mods 32mpg @ 75mph
with mods 29 @75mph with the 3:89 gears(the only reason I know this is when I have to drive slow when my wife is following me to the races in her truck.)

Top speed not a clue.....not fast enough :wink: (only has 36K on it.

1996, no motor mods. 110000 miles on the clock. I get about 12 mpg over here. Never drive slow. I drive it like I stole it everytime!

mileage: 104.000 miles (167.000km)
best: 26.1mpg (9.0l/100km)
worst: 14.2mpg (16.5l /100km)

average: 20.4mpg (11.5l/100km)


And of course if i had those nice little gas coupons or would earn gazillions of Euros, i wouldn´t really care about gas mileage, too.... ;)

none of my Fbodies lasted long enough to empty/refill a gas tank without a shop&repair break in between, so I don't know. :lol:

Is there an equation to convert from litre/100km to mpg?

My minimum consumption was 11.5litre/100km, the highest was 21.9, but average around town and country is 15-16 litre, which is a number I do not like to think too much about, because I know that other Fbody drivers manage to drive at much lower numbers. It is probably my leaden foot :lol:

Val, your 32mpg are really impressive. I couldn't come anywhere near that though I've also been cruising around at a steady 75mph... but my car just wants more fuel I guess... :? Or your car is calibrated more on the lean side contrary to mine?

Roughly it's 235/mpg = liter/100km and 235/(l/100km) = mpg

never calculating it either. but i just know that i once drove 300km with less than 30liter, coz i had exaclty half tank and still had some gas in it at home! :D
it think it was about 9l/100km driving constantly between 160-240kmh.

Ben, that wasn't normal...that was the best that I ever got. Wind at the back of the car, flat no hills. I still do get good milage now if I keep my foot out of it.

One thing I was actually wondering about all the three years in the Forum:
@ the members of the US forces in Germany:
Do you get the fuel for US prices in your garrisons :D or are you also sponsering the German government with this tax madness??? :shock:

Nope! You think we'd be driving everywhere if we paid all that money you guys do? Hell, that's a car payment right there. We get gas at about half the price you guys pay. God Bless America! Also, we get coupons to buy Esso gas off base. Still, about half price :D

Candyman, maybe you made a typo. 9 litre at 160-240 sounds very optimistic.
