Just wondering what everyone's opinion is of this. I know none of us are economist (I think :D ) but so what. Seeing how the euro is kicking the green backs tail at the moment, does anyone think it'll make a comeback this yr and if so how much?

From some of the research I've been looking into it looks like their expecting the Euro to gain another 10-15% on the dollar!
But if that's the case the US deficit is gonna be a mess for a while unless Mr. Bush and Greenspan make some changes over the next 4 yrs.

So what's you take on this?

I doubt that the Dollar will be stronger at the end of the year... and I like it the way it is, you guess why.

I personally think the dollar will be stronger by the end of the year. It is not good for the Europeans for the dollar to be as low as it is. That makes American imports to Europe relatively cheaper and European exports to the US relatively more expensive. To be able to have their exports competitive in the US, the European companies have to be less profitable on that part of their market. That is not to their advantage. It even adversely affects tourism from a European point of view. It's good for the US, except for those of us over here. Time will tell. I did see an article which quoted one of the EU economists who said that the EU would have to do something to help the exchange rate if the rate stayed below the 85-90 rate for an extended period of time. I guess we will see.
