...to bring you back to reality. Apparently the fan quit working in the T/A due to a problem with the temp sensor. Anyway, the engine overheated and the next thing I know the left tank blew completely apart. Plastic and other crap went flying sky high. The small explosion that occured was enough to shake my garage. I can only think how lucky I was that I wasn't directly over the hood when it went. The reality is that I realized this car is killing me.... slowly. |

I've been around cars quite a while, but have never heard about a cooler exploding. Caps blow, pipes blow off, but a cooler tank? Perhaps the tank was previously damaged/cracked and it was just a matter of time before it went, overheating engine or not. |

Perhaps the tank was previously damaged/cracked and it was just a matter of time before it went, overheating engine or not. I'm guessing it had a small crack in it also...new cap. I did notice steam coming from that area of the engine compartment before it went, but I wasn't sticking my head in there until I was sure WTF was up. |
