WTF? I was home on leave and got a job offer from Schwan's foods as an IT engineer in my home town of Marshall Minnesota.
What's Schwan's? They do home delivery of ice cream and most frozen pizzas in the store like Tony's, Red Barron etc. The 2nd largest privately owned company in the US.
The current wife decided that marriage isn't for her and said that I could provide for her future financial security. I guess that I'll just have to take care of my own then. SO, I underwent 4 interviews and was offered the position tonight!
$73,500 to start, $1,500 signing bonus, matching 401K, full medical and dental, and 100% tuition assistance for school.
I have an appointment friday to turn in my retirement paperwork! I plan being back in the states NLT 1 Sept 05. My retirement should be official around 1 Nov 05 after terminal leave and permissive TDY.
I have mixed feelings about retirement but, this is better then my 6 month deployment in Baghdad I was selected for. I missed promotion by 5 points this year after the AF raised my cutoff 11.5 points and I feel that 20 is now enough for me.
Thanks for the hours of entertainment on the site. Hope for a great turn out at Bitburg as this will probably be my last race here.

Congrats man! Nothing like retiring. Like I know...but I will in 09'! Sorry to hear about the S.O. Don't sweat it....buy yourself another toy and it'll be all forgotten.

What are you retiring as? E7 E8?

Just too hot for a good pass today 4 runs best was 13.116 all were in the 13.1's .2 slower and lost 3 mph I should have ran better as I've added an electric water pump since the last outing. 1.8 & 1.9 60's
