Why is it that everytime I go to order a part for my car, I go to fill out my address and CC info and there is nothing on the pull down bar for APO addresses? They can have United Arab Emirates and Yemen but no APO?! I know I can e-mail them for it but hell, I guess that these companies think us Military Service members dont buy performance parts for our cars.

Venting again.

I know tell me about it. Its the same if you fill out your credit card info and theres no APO. I ran into that a couple of times. I e-mailed the company letting them know to put a APO option, and I dont think any of them did.

Yeah most companies really suck about that. Don't you love how they charge you twice as much for an APO than regular just because the final destination is germany?

That somehow seems illegal to me (even though I know it exists). But when I was in Babs I ordered through the four I mentioned before, and didnt notice any differance (maybe I should pay more attention to the invoice :) )....Who are you ordering from that does this? If it is IRS or Thunder, I will shoot them a Email and ask them whats up. Angie at IRS and Paul at Thunder will work with you to make a sale.

I have had the same problem... Just use APO, NY #####. I did this and it got here. As long as you have the zip right, it will go to the right place.

They don't charge anything extra for APOs...I have ordered a cubic buttload (and not a drop less) of stuff and shipping is ALWAYS calculated to New York state (APO) but it has to go through the USPS, not UPS.

If you have any problems and can't find the APO, use NY for the state (like mentioned above)...the zip code is registered there. There has only been once that a vendor would not ship to an APO, I won't (SLP) mention (SLP) any names (SLP) but I (SLP) called Angie (SLP) at Thunder Racing and (SLP) she had them (SLP) ship it to me for the exact same price!!! ....like DUH!!!

Keep in mind all vendors charge for shipping AND HANDLING, most only make you pay for shipping, but some (SLP) really do make you pay handling charges!!!

Classic Industries is a real bad PITA when it comes to APO orders. They have to weigh the stuff, figure out how much it's going to cost and then they fax you the quote. You have to sign it, fax it back and then they ship. Trust me, I've spend quite a bit of phone money trying to convince them that it's BS what they're doing. To top it off, they qouted me like $60 for shipping. I went to the post office on post, gave them the weight and zip codes to check if the quote was correct. It came out to like $20!! I raised hell until they gave me a 10% discount on the order which about made up for the shipping cost difference.
No more Classic Industries for me!

Thanks, I will remember the NY thing from now on. I was at Spohn and then BMR's site when I felt the predjudice. I think I will bring it up at our next E.O meeting!

Yea, I went to Steve Spohn for my custom crossmember for my T-56. The cost is a 100 bucks and he told me it was 70 for shipping, for a 10 lbs (maybe) little transmission crossmember. Hell, my brake rotors and pads were only 45 bucks to ship, and there a hell-of-a lot heaver than a crossmember. Talk about stupid!!

With the never ending price wars on the internet a new way of conning people has been introduced !
It's called shipping ..

They sell a product $5 cheaper than the lowest price you can find but they 'kickback' with an expensive shippingfee that covers the $5 you saved and some extra bucks for profit.

Just take a close eye on Ebay where people charge others ridiculous amounts for shipping.
If they charge extreme amounts i simply go to the next man.

FWIW.
Thunder racing has been giving me free shipping.
Summit charges normal USPS prices
IRS charged $7.50 for several items shipped to my door, including a case of redline oil

If one wont do it, there are three other companies that will.
