I recently read a report on air traffic safety and stumbled across the following lines: According to 2004 IATA statistics, 23 out of the world's 103 accidents in Western-built jets happened in Africa. "And remember that Africa only accounts for 4.5% global traffic," added IATA chief executive Giovanni Bisignani. "If we add Eastern-built aircraft the figures for Africa are worse," he said but did not give exact figures. Now you know where NOT to book your next holiday...... |

Ha ha ha ha ha, no doubt. I flew (well I was the passenger) some local chartered aircraft when I was in Mali. After that trip I can definantly see why this would be the case. ![]() |
