Hey, thinking about taking some leave sometime in Feb/Mar/Apr ... had promised my great-aunt for 2 years to finally make it, but didn't yet ... somehow, all the race stuff got in the way (apart from the regular job). Apart from taking a couple days to visit with the relatives up in N.C., I definitely want to do some diving ... like, 1/2 - 2/3 of the time ![]() So, the questions would be: - what's a good time to be going e.g. down to the Keys? How's the weather there usually around end of Feb/beginning of March? Water temps around middle 70s or up would be sufficient ... - any advices/recommendation on a good dive center to go to for the trips? Nitrox for free a plus (PADI places nowadays usually do that) ... - any other recommendations on specials dive locations that are a "must see"? Tnx! |

Well the one place you can go in FL is a place called Ichetucknee Springs http://www.floridastateparks.org/ichetu ... efault.cfm It is a river of clear water that you can snorkel or dive for about 8-10 kms in North Florida. I have been there many times and love it. The water is as clear as the water coming from the tap. Where some durty white clothes and they will be white by the end of the day. Check the link for more info. |

Can't help you with Florida, but if you end up passing through the right parts of Georgia, let me know. I should be able to hook you up. |

Tried to check with the travel agency for a hotel in the Keys for a week, they're completely nuts ... ![]() ![]() Tnx! Garry, I've used Expedia.com to find hotel rooms for every trip I've taken in the last 2 years and have never had a problem. They've got maps of where all the hotels are and usually have pictures of the rooms and decent prices. |
