Today cruising down the A61 south near Karlsrue I passed a newer BMW 530 sitting near the exit of a reststop. Meaning he was near the re-entry to the Autobahn. One guy (that I could tell) faced at a 90' Right angle to the road.
When I came back the other way...it was no longer a BMW but a Mercedes E Class. Again single occupant. No cameras on the side of the road or in the middle of the road that I saw.
Were they Polizei?

More than likely it was . That was probably the spotter looking for people not wearing seatbelts and then radio ahead for the bust. Or using the opportunity to check vehicles in the parkplatz.

I know that situation, it also happens nearly every time when I'm driving to Hockenheim (A61) just before the bridge over the Rhine... maybe it's even the same place I'm talking about...
