I am getting ready to take the Z up to Schweinfurt to ship it back to the states. I took pictures of every modification, transfered them onto a Power Point slide, and I am going to have the inspector sign off on them. The last time I sent a modded car back to the states a few parts were missing. I just hope they don't beat on it too hard. I took off most of the nitrous kit and unhooked the wiring. My dad is going to put it in his garage and have the rearend and cage installed. I still have not decided on what tranny to get. I have even considered buying a V6 Camaro for cheap and gutting it. Now I am doomed to drive a 93 VW golf with a whopping 70 PS.

Make sure you put a 25mph speed limit or low RPM limit on the computer ...

I think it´s just a matter of days till that Golf sees a 150hp shot of nitrous (which is probably the last thing it sees)
Good luck getting your car home!

Isn't that a true statement! LOL
Hope they realize they'll pay heavily for messing w/ your car. I'm dreading that day as well not so much the hot dogging as it'll have 2000rpm limit set in w/ no boost---but I'm more concerned about the paint job then anything else. People in the states can't paint for chit IMO unless you go somewhere where they charge you 10K.

I just got back from dropping it off. The COR verified all my mods, and signed off on the paperwork. She said she had never seen a car like this one. The other inspector said he had. I asked him where and he said German Race Wars. Uh Duh, it was my car. It is supposed to be in Atlanta on the 8th of January. I plan on flying on the 10th and going straight to pick it up. That is the plan anyways.

7 weeks trip? It doesn't actually take that long on the boat, does it?

No, but it has to go from Schweinfurt to Bremerhaven. Then wait on a boat.

Don,
Call me when you fly in I might be able to pick you up and drop you at the shipping point. It's alittle bit of a drive from the airport. When you pick it up in Atlanta they might bring it out all wet. If they do make them dry it off and don't sign "He said POOP" until you are throughly satisfied with it. Mine had oil stains on the paint and I didn't see it until after I washed it. I had already signed the paperwork and I couldn't file a claim through Jag. Except for the stains it was perfect, just the way I dropped it off.

I'll only have to make that decision until this summer when I get my new SRT10 pickup and then I'll have to decide between the 3 . There is an end in sight, on my son's 16th B-day he'll get to chose between the 73 & 01 and then it's back to just 2 again.
