First off, thanks a bunch to Garry for fixing the forums so I could join back up. On to business: is there a better place here to get a car inspected than Spangdahlem? I got my WS6 two weeks ago, on temp plates because the parking brake failed. I went to get it reinspected this morning, and somehow, after the car sat for three weeks and has only 800 more miles than the last inspection, the front tires now need to be replaced. I am beginning to think those crusty old German guys don't like American cars! My Opel is damn near falling apart and that passed. So here's the thing, either I need to find a place that isn't so strict to get this thing passed, or I need to find some decent used tires. I will replace them with good tires eventually, but I don't want to pay a buttload of money right now to get this thing to pass. Any ideas on places or where I can get some tires?

Don't know of any places in your area .
275R40X17 is an uncommon size for Europe. So tires are slim.

if they really need to be replaced, best deal I found over there was tirerack.com, but they take about a week to ship. If they just don't pass inspection, you can try to find someone with a vette or another f-body and swap wheels. It doesn't have to look pretty or match, just have to have enough tread.

I may be able to help. I have a spare set of brand new tires or wheels. I am at stationed at Ramstein. Let me know.

Thanks for the ideas. Chevyfreak, I may end up needing those tires. How much would part with them for?
