i guess it depends, in a straight line you might have the edge, but as soon as a corner comes along ![]() http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5a8KXNRm_q4 |

Roy I would have to give it to you. Most people that buy that type of car can't drive them. |

I did a track day with R8. I don't know your car, but my old Z28 with appr 380 hp., bilstein/eibach suspension and BAER brakes would had no chanche. Straigh line R8 is not explosivly fast, but it's quicker than any moderately modified F-Body (0-200 in 15 sec., my car did it in 17,5). What makes it fast in the corners, is how composed it is, you can go really quick and it still feels stabile. Balance and suspension is spot on. And even if you go over the limit, it doesn't bite, despite of mid-engine layout, so you feel yourself comfortable when looking for limits. In some tests R8 has been faster on the track than Gallardo Superleggera, despite of the lack of 100+ hp. I liked R-tronic box more than manual and most probably it's faster too the track. Perfect downshifts to each corner with slighs blip of the throttle. It doesn't feel like hardcore track car, adjustable suspension is not overly stiff, it's quiet inside and easy to drive slowly. |
