You never know when something is going to break. It can and will happen to anyone. My experience happened this weekend. Unfortunately, my motor internals decided to part ways with my LS6 block. A rod bolt took the path of least resistance which was apparently through the side of the block.

Anyhow, back to ADAC. I signed up for ADAC PLUS just 2 weeks ago. It was right around 100 Euros and covers all of my vehicles. (For those that know me, that is a few LOL). I was at Bitburg when my SS was rendered inop. I called ADAC and they coordinated a couple of trucks to flatbed my car and bring it TO MY HOUSE near Ramstein around 100 miles away. They just asked what garage I wanted to take it to to get repairs and I told them my house. No problem. That 100 Euros saved me over $500 in towing fees! :ok: Now I wish I could get them to buy me a new motor :pat:

ADAC has been a preferred sponsor my car since 1998. The money I saved just by paying the yearly premium is great. No questions asked.

I got my plus membership after being stranded in Bitburg due to dead alternator ... didn't need it ever since ... (luckily, as it will usually mean there's more bills due ;) )

Sorry to hear about the engine. Was it on stock rod bolts? Here is a website where Hawk (Bruce) bought his new engine. http://www.schwankeshortblocks.com/ He said it is stronger than his old 427 we built.

Thanks for the website. I have to determine exactly what all needs replaced and I won't know until it is completely torn down. I will start a thread of the progress as soon as I can, but I just switched jobs and schedule so it may be a few.

It was completly built with some of the best pieces. Thats why I really don't know/understand what happenend yet. The rod bolts were ARP 2000's. The one that shot through the block was busted in half.

Let me know when we are tearing into the block man, looking for some experience on an LS block and I'll have plenty of time:) Just shoot me directions to your house at trevor.vander@ramstein.af.mil

Hell, I did spot the rod bolt, and you were "chasing" me when it went;-) Least I can do is help tear it down and learn some stuff in the process, I'll even bring my good camera:)

LOL. There wasn't no chasing. Good things come to those who wait. All part of the plan.

I thought you were leaving soon or something.

I have already torn into it. I have one side completely torn apart and hope to get a good jump on the driverside tonight.

What are your work hours?

I would order a built short block and call it a day. You wouldn't have to worry about rods bolts coming out of the side of the block. Did you smack the rev limiter? I put Lunati rods and Diamond pistons in mine when the motor had 20K miles on it. I didn't want to see the LS6 block get destroyed by the stock rods.

NX, it was built, was an ARP 2000 series Rod bolt that we found along with a quarter sized hole in the block behind the starter:( Hope to provide you with more info soon though as I'll get over and help him out as much as possible.

Brian, I responded to your email again as well, didn't realize I could hit this site from work. And you were "chasing" me but I still can't belive the pull you have to just pass me like that while under boost from the previous run, I killed you out of the hole both runs, but your N/A power was BRUTAL especially up top, much respect and kudos for that:)

Also, i am leaving soon but cars not shipping till 26 June now, and I'm not flying out of here till around 25 July.

Are you tearing the block down in the engine bay? It would be easier to disconnect things now and pull it out as a unit, I've had problems pulling shortblocks out in the past.

Yeap, he gets it out the hole quicker and it's a mid 11 second car, I have no doubts it will come back stronger and better:)

Sounds logical, but it was already forged with all the good stuff.
