Just talkng hypothetically at this point, but if i could set up a deal with my boss to get you guys a deal on a 2010 Camaro, who would be interested in it. I'm looking to get about 4 or 5 guys in Europe that are serious about buying and take it to him as 1 huge order to get a better price. |

Hmmm, interesting. Usually, must of us (military) are able to get a nice deal through AAFES. However, for whatever reason GM stopped giving the military the benefits that Chrysler and Ford and giving to us here. Maybe, you could throw that out to them and make it a military special. On a side note, I am still not overly impressed with the '10. I think the Challenger kicks its hind quarters. However, if the deal is good enough....... |

I like that idea! Would we be able to request certain options? Or would they all have to be the same? Does anyone have a link with more info on them? (Details, pricing, etc.) Yes, why doesn't GM have the same offers as Ford or Chrysler through AAFES? Brian I too like the Challengers, but only blue. I might only like blue because my TA is blue...who knows. I guess the wheels on the orange ones make me turn my head. I know on the ones that I've seen they all have the same wheels, but it's easier to stare at the blue one, plus my wife likes the blue ones! They have the Orange Challenger on Spang sitting right in front of the bank, so I see it every week. |

Main PITA would probably getting it registered in the German system - with it being new, one would probably have to pay some 4-5digit sum to get it inspected and converted ... it cost me about 1k€ just to get the Firehawk through, and that was already more or less easy, as the place that I went through already has done many US F-Bodies and their local TÜV place is used to them ... imagine the "fun" one would have with a brand new car ... ![]() |

more info...I'm working as a salesman at a Chevy dealership here in Virginia, so you would be able to order the car any way you want it from a base V-6 all the way up to a fully loaded 2SS in any color you want. We could also add any GM accessories to the car and possibly some aftermarket items. My target for this is the US military guys overseas who wouldn't have to convert the car to Euro specs, but for anyone that does have to go through TUV, I'll work with you, but you'll pretty much be on your own for that part of it. As far as AAFES goes, if they were still selling GM cars, I wouldn't waste your time because there's no way I could compete with their prices. The reality of the situation is that we're selling them at $5-$10K over MSRP on the east coast and $20K over MSRP in California. What I'm hoping to do is put together a 4-5 orders at or close to MSRP and arrange for them to be shipped together so you could save some money there too. At the end of the day, the more cars you guys buy, the better the deal I'll be able to work out. You can get the MSRP if you look around. I don't know exactly why GM dropped AAFES, but they do still offer a military discount. Check their website for something like other offers, rebates, or something like that. There is a certificate that you can print out and take to a local dealer. One of the guys from our office who went back to San Antonio recently ordered a 2SS with the RS package. The MSRP was a little over $36,000. He got it for $33,200. The deals are out there if you look for them. |

this deal is pretty much dead in the water. The longer I work here, the less i want to invite friends to do business with me. ![]() |

Hey man. It was a thought. You are a salesman and you have to try different things. Obviously, not all ideas will not work out. Especially when your target market for the group buy is only marketing to a group of like 5 active people on here. Now if you can get me one shipped for $20k, that would be a different story. LOL. |

obviously there is more to this story than i'm going to talk about right now, but on a similar note, if anyone has any leads on a contractor of GS job in Germany for a former AF comm O, let me know and I'll send you my resume, i wouldn't mind heading back that way for a year or 2. |

Apart from living in the "lesser desireable" part of Germany and being far away from the Nürburgring, everything else is still fine. |

Stef....it's been a while. Never wanted to do a full career, my commitment was up and I was a bit burned out, so I dropped the paperwork to get out planning to move anywhere in the country for a career. Of course between the time I dropped my paperwork in January and when I got out in August, i let the one thing that will cloud any man's judgment happen to me (a woman) and I decided to stick around this area. Found a job I was sure i would get....and didn't, then the economy went to hell and my backup plan fell through, so i ended up selling cars. Of course to add to all that mess, she's on a 179 day deployment until March and just found out they're sending her to Korea for a year next June, so sticking around here doesn't make much sense, so it's back to plan A and if things work out after all that she'll have her choice of assignment leaving Korea and she can come to me this time. Women...can't live with 'em, can't kill 'em Any chance Audi is looking to hire a test driver? |

I'll be doing the same thing, tried a bunch of different things to stay in but I'll be going guard, and currently trying for a ART position, keep your fingers crossed for me on that one:) Didn't know you were selling cars either, guess I didn't read into it that much on the first post... |

Roy wrote: Wolfsburg? You and the Misses tok a promotion to VW? Have you drove the Ehra-Lessien Test Track yet? I was happily minding my own business in Ingolstadt when I was summonsed to Wolfsburg. Now my business card says "Design Project Manager - next generation Golf family". Quite a stressful job, but they are making it worth my while to be up here. I've organized a few presentations at the test track and even managed to drive the "Steilwand" on 2 occasions. Quite a weird feeling when your car rotate around 70 degrees while doing 180 km/h (you can even take your hands off the steering wheel!). Oschersleben is around 50 km away from my house and I don't have to pay for gas or tires, but it is not quite as exciting as the Nürburgring. |
