Well, as most know the history....I have finally received some promising news. My motor is done! They are waiting on a few extra things from me and it can be shipped! I originally anticipated a 1APR startup, but now I hope to have it going in July (exactly 1 year after it desintegrated). The delay was due in part to the fact that GM drastically slowed production of the LS3 block that I required.

I have tried sooooo hard to keep it a secret, but cannot take it any longer. SSickneSS will soon be sporting an Erik Konig built aluminum LS3 427 with Tony Mamo ported AFR 225's. Hell fricken yeah! I figure with as much money as this thing has sucked out of me, I can boast a little

That's what I am talking about. That thing will be a beast. Good luck with it all and looking at your past posts, I would make sure I got it tuned before I leaned on it too hard. Texas Speed did a mail order tune for the Hawk when Bruce put the 427 in it and it was pretty good.

The tuning is my biggest worry at this point. I've got EFILive V2 and a wideband, but am not proficient at making changes. Would Bruce be willing to share a base? :ok:

BTW, I am stoked!

I actually have the Hawk now and the computer is in it. I don't have access to HP tuners anymore so I can't send you the tables. What else is going on the motor i.e. injector size, intake, t-body, header size?

Also, the 415 I have likes the NGK BR7E plugs. I has alot of compression and I would get detonation out of the TR6 plugs. I switched over to the 7s and the detonation is gone. I can e-mail you a fuel mapping table that I got off the HP tuners site.

I will probably just purchase a starter tune. Thanks for the offer though.

The injectors are probably going to be FAST 36lb
If it doesnt sell right away I will be reusing the FAST90 w/ NW90
The headers are Kooks 1 3/4 to 1 7/8 w/3.5 collectors
I am unsure of cam right now.

What inj and cam are you running? (send me a PM if that is better)

I was pushing 470rwhp with my 347 and was still using TR55's. I never got any sort of detonation, but they kept fouling out. I wonder if that was the problem. I will have to give the 6's or 7's a try. Are those a hotter plug?

For non domestic plugs the higher the number the colder the plug and vice versa for domestic plugs.
There is no correlation between the two, although there are some cross reference tabels for the more popular plug brands .

Nice, I was considering an HKE 427 LSX with Greg Good worked ETP 245's.....HKE has a very good reputation.

I went aluminum L92 instead of the LSX because I am an N/A guy and have no intentions of a power adder. The LSX would just be extra weight for N/A.

That is the primary reason I went with them. Price was a little higher and it took considerably longer, but should be worth it. I have been let down by Ed from HP Factory (cost a bundle and all he had to do was finish the tune as promised) and big time by TTP in NJ (builder and initial tuner who completly denied involvment and straight out lied to save face). Yeah, I am still burned by it all :bash:

I can use some security because this thing has sucked me dry!

I just sold a set of PRC Ported L92s. I was going to put them on my 402 but I ended up buying Bruce's Firehawk with a Schwanke 415 stroker in it. I am putting that motor in my Camaro and the little 346 in the Hawk. I ended up selling off the 402 in pieces. The L92 ports were huge. TSP recommended staying below .615 lift on the cam with a less agressive lobe because the valves in the L92s are so heavy.

I appreciate it, but they have made it clear they will not help in any way. They will not stand behind their work so I will try to let as many know as possible.

They just moved to Little Falls, NJ.

The worst part about it is that they are actually a pretty reputable company. They have also been featured in numerous Chevy High Perf. and GM High Tech mags. :pat:

I just read your post about using 36# injectors. Those are going to be too small for a 427. The Hawk has 42# Ford Green Tops in it and they flow around 45#s due to the higher fuel pressure of the LS1. They are almost maxed out. The Hawk is running the Thunder Racing TREX cam. It is a decent all motor cam but I would not spray it. You can contact Patrick G on LS1tech and he will setup a specific cam grind for you based on your motor specs, gears, weight, and your goals. I think he charges around $30 and then you send the info to Comp Cams for the grind. I heard he is pretty spot on. Last thing, NGK plugs are ranged by the higher the number ie. The TR55 are stock heat range, TR6 is one step colder, BR7s are two steps colder and so on.
