Time for some neglected maintenance
Replacing all bearing pulleys
Replacing all coolant hoses
Inspecting everything else
Basically everything else has been replaced or serviced or dranied and filled on schedule.
That is all.

My car now is over 13 years old (manufactured in October 1998) and has also just over 80000 miles.

I did the pulleys last November (ah not all, I just remember I still have to do the two A/C pulleys).
The coolant hoses "look" still pretty good, I do not see any cracks or that the rubber is becoming too stiff. Is this the case with yours? Or do you just replace them because of their age generally?

The rest has also been changed regularly in my car -- except for the clutch fluid. Well, this will be done when I'll finally do the clutch next month...

Ben for hoses you are correct cracks, stiffen of the rubber plus swelling, sponginess on the exterior. Its the interior of the hoses that you can't really be too sure of after years of service and the abuse of high coolant temps when doing track days . I am going to be safe than sorry. Nothing to be alarmed about , some folks are just fine replacing hoses only when the hose bursts.

You're right about the interior of the hoses... I might be replacing mine then, too. I don't want to experience a failure on a track day or generally when driving around...

Roy, will you use stock hoses or some special aftermarket stuff?

I am sticking with the stock stuff from Dayco.

Did you buy them at a local place or somewhere else (Rockauto for example)? Could you point me to the correct stuff, I see several different hoses and no complete package...?!

Hmmmm, this reminds me... My hoses are all good but I need to do a coolant flush...

Thanks for the reminder guys!
