Hey man, did you ever get the clutch installed? If so, how is it?

I have the clutch in my possession, but I pulled the engine to have some machine work done in preparation for the new pistons. I won't have the car back on the road until my axle comes in...should be about 3 more weeks (fingers crossed).

I can tell you it is awesome. I drove a heads / cam car with the clutch and it holds anything you can throw at it.

Let's hope so. If it can handle what I will throw at it, it will make me happy..

You must realize this up front. Roy told me and it made sense your drive train is as strong as your weakest link. If your clutch is bullet proof what will give next. You need to just be aware of that before you test it. $$$$

You'll have to let me know how it turns out...I got some BAD news today...hairline cracks on cyls 5 and 7...so the car will go into storage until I can afford a new mill. Bad thing is I just spent almost enough money to buy a new one. I'll probably go with an ARE 418 iron block but for now she sits :(

Oh, well...I'll be busy with school anyhow

Jamey do I still have a green light. Do not tell me what caused the cracks?

Thanks, it's terrible news, but I'll get my stroker now :)

Not sure why it cracked, could have been there when I bought the car. I actually take it pretty easy on the car except when we are racin which is maybe 1 or 2 times a month.

I almost started to cry when we saw the first crack on #5...Image

Jamey I almost fell of my chair when I seen the $$$ of the 418. You can pick up the bare blocks pretty cheap ls1.com or the 6.0 truck engine I hear its the same type block just iron. Talk to little Billy Gomez just off 401 bypass he has alot of connections and tell him I sent you he should hook you up. Good luck

Ya, I know I can get a bare block cheap, but since I'm gonna do it...I'm gonna do it up right.

I'm waiting for Nick at ARE to get back with me on the final cost / specs. It's gonna be alot similiar to PSJs mill. Built as an NOS motor to withstand a dual stage 250 shot.

I have some time Jan or Feb) between now and when I can afford this, so I'll do some research. May have to buy another project car for now...hmmmmm
