Sure I am up for a autobahn run. I trap way over 105. You arent too close on the mods, but you have a few right. I have 4.10's but they are better for the autobahn cause my 6th gear will pull, and I dont shift into that till 145 mph.

Be patient grasshopper, you are trapping 120mph in the 1/4...I'm only trapping 91mph for now....what would be the point in me running you on the autobahn? I would lose just as bad as I would on the track, probably worse....like I said, parts are enroute, I just don't know when they'll get here .....damn!!! you make me want to bring my 300 over here, I would gladly take you up on that offer then. But oh well....I guess I'll just have to wait a lil longer and spank you with the 200sx

run4cover I have ordered the stripe that you suggested I purchased when you beat me at the next bitburg but one little thing about that is that the stripe if for you good for extra 50 horse power beause you will definitely need it in order to be within 7 car lengths of me .
Hope to see you this coming Saturday.

Hope to see you this coming Saturday. well...you'll just have to put that race on hold, because, my parts still haven't got here yet, and I don't see them getting here before the weekend. I won't even come back if I'm still going to be without an exhaust and boost controller. Oh well...guess we'll have to set up a race own our own ( as soon as my freakin parts come!)....hope you got some mods on the way, you gonna need them

Quote: Oh dear. History lesson #1 - 3rd gen V8's and their 1/4 mile times:
1. 1985 Car & Driver 215bhp LB9 IROC 15.2@91 2. 1985 Car & Driver 190bhp L69 IROC 15.4@90 3. 1988 Road & Track 215bhp LB9 IROC 14.9@95
1 & 3 were autos, 2 was a manual. L98 350's ran to 60 in 5.8 or 5.9. Just so you know when and where to blag your times.Just standing up for the 3rd gens. By the way, mine's a highway car too. oh boy...another one quoting times from car and driver....ever heard of ringers? tell me how you get a 3300lb. car with 215 horses to go 95mph in the quarter? Maybe with a vericom or fifth wheel (which I'm sure c&d uses one of). Those cars are running those times most likely with low 2 sixty footers....I ran 15.2 with a 2.6 sixty foot tyme....do the math, If I want to abuse my tranny I can easily pull a 2.2....I'm pretty sure those numbers didn't come from a dragstrip either, but believe what you want, find a third gen stock and put it up against me, drag or rolling start(especially a rolling start ....and I'll bet you any amount of money you want, I WILL WIN. PERIOD! Now since you like to quote magazine numbers, c&D lists LS-1's running mid to low 13's trapping 106mph.....uhhhh, what's wrong with yours? this should be interesting

Ringers eh? My friend's 205bhp '91 Z28 with 2.73 gears ran 15.2@90 last year with no mods at all. Damn Chevy for selling him a ringer! You do the math, he'll do the quarters.
Your LS1 research is just as poor. Mid 13 and high 12 LS1's are mainly manuals with 3.42 rear ends. My times are about right for an auto with 2.73 gears. Later cars are faster.
Times also depend on the track you run at. In the UK, they are mainly old airfields and Santa Pod, in particular, runs uphill. The question is what can you beat on the same day, same track. My times beat an M Coupe (allegedly 12.8 over the quarter but 14.2 on this track)and an expensively modified TVR Griffith which similarly could not break 14's. So you have to compare times for the track you use. I can run a 13.0 running downhill. I could, of course, take my best 60' time and by calculation, work out that I can run a 13.7 but what's the point? Same for "I can easily get my 60' time down to xxx". If you can, why haven't you? Duh!
Track for track, the best I ever saw a modified 300ZX run was low 14's and the only Jap car that's beaten me is a Skyline GTR (soundly). So the answer to the question "What's wrong with your car?" is "It's a lot faster than yours". He he

Run4cover your a tough guy, I really respect you... talking smack with a moderate fast car like yours is requires guts, I respect that.. you think you can take on every 3rd gen ? well I got news for ya, not all 3rd gens are L03´s but don´t worry, I only have a 305 thats almost stock and really slow, plus its a heavy ass convertible ... still, try me if you got the balls, see ya down in bitburg .. oh and hey, get ready to Run-4-cover

evidently, you didn't read my post above, #1; I said stock third gen, #2; I won't make bitburg, because my parts won't be here, so there is no point in me driving three hours to run the same times. #3; if my parts do make it here by friday, It wouldn't be fair for me to beat up on a stock or lightly modified 3rd gen ....#1,999,999; your 305cu.in puts out the same peak horsepower as I do, I don't know what your torque figures are, minz are 200lb.ft....you mind telling me how you are going to beat me with ~500lb. more weight!?!?!....Tell you what, regardless of your ET. if you can trap more than 91mph, then you win!.....if not, use my name as your next set of instructions! hahahaha.....have fun, I don't see me being there!

On your four stars that is!!! Too bad you won't make it to bitburg. Make sure to let us know when you get those parts in so we can get down to business at the track. After next race the soda is on me win or loose.
By the way what color did you want that stripe??? j/k

So the answer to the question "What's wrong with your car?" is "It's a lot faster than yours". He he another case of selective reading!!! ...i said third gen trapping 95mph, not 90....that's about the difference between 250hp and 300. So, tell your friend to bring his third gen here so I can stomp him! ...I'm still 1mph faster;)...I won't pull 2.1's or 2.2 sixty footers, because I don't plan on revving to 3k rpms and dropping my auto into "d"....I happen to like my car ....It all shows in the trap speed, I'm not the one to try to impress anyone with et.'s. I happen to own a modified 300zxtt, and I run 8.4's at 84mph in the eigth with 2.1 sixty times(never had it to a 1/4, so don't ask)granny shifting (I like the tranny in that one too), uhhhh...that's a whole lot faster than 14's ....especially considering they run 13's stock ....maybe the owner(s) are non drivers, 300zx's are well known to be the most difficult of any import to launch( the rear suspension is design not to let the rear-end squat...and they wheel hop like a mo-fo!....go catch one on the highway and then tell us how bad he rips you up! ....And before anyone says, I run this and that in the 1/8th with these mods....my car only has an exhaust, computer upgrade and a k&N filter....so let's not get on the 300zx thing again, it takes a heads and cammed LS-1 to run with me on the highway in that car....well...it used to, hahaha...considering I have two shiny new upgraded turbos, ~72lb. injectors, two high-flow intercoolers, blah,blah...steering me in the face everytime I go home, the all motor boys better get naaaws or some form of artificial aspiration if they still wanna play ....Bruce!!! you bringing that chicken hawk to the states anytime soon? hahahaha....gotta highway run for ya!
