I hate to have to kill another G.M but when the question is asked it has to done.I had just left a roundabout and came up behind a 97 firebird ws6 ram air driven by a friend of mine I was just thinking will he ? When he punched it ,I was in 2ed and also nailed it ,just bounced it off the rev limiter hit 3rd and bye bye firebird.When we stoped I asked him if he was flat out as I was suprised how quick I went by ,he said he had to the boards and now wants and LS1.

I,m in england and it would be great if any of you guys could make it over for the mopar nats at santa pod the home of drag racing in europe.I live near Dover you could get the ferry to Dover and we could ride up to the track it,s about 150 miles take about 3 hours if any one is interested let me know it,s the week end of the 27th/28th of july and the track is open all weekend for american cars only all you need is your drivers licence and £10 it would be great to meet up thanks Ian.

Before you left? Dude that was so long ago I can't even remember. I can't even try to estimate how much longer it will be. Tony keeps telling me soon, but I guess he is waiting for me to come back down there. As of last night he said he would try to get it done this weekend. I've been told that so many times though.

Hey Ian, Hope you don't take my smack talking serious. I talk $hit and will be able to back it up as soon as my car gets that motor in it. I would love to make a trip up there and do some racing.

Hey Ian, what does that '98 of yours run? I've got my FIPK coming over from the States shortly and hope to get it fitted to go to Santa Pod for the Mopar Euronats. Shame they moved it from Avon Park really as that's a nice run whereas Santa Pod is a bloody long way. Are you going to Billing? If so, look out for me, black R reg '98 Z with loud exhaust. I hope that Firehawk runs faster than the one at Avon Park. It was a green '97 M6 and he couldn't get it out of the 15's. Kept blaming his gearshifting. The auto LT1's were running 14.1 to 14.3, nothing faster than that. In fact, one LT1 had done a stack of mods and his best time was still stock!! Claims he's got 320 rwhp. Are the M6 gearboxes really that bad?

My car ran a 13.6 on street tires with only a set of headers and underdrive pulleys. It is a 97 formula ws6 with the 6 speed. The track was crappy too.

I,ll be at the mopars definately ,but I,m working the billing weekend.My 98 is a M6 and I,ve only put it down the track 3 times at the mopars last year then it rained so I went of to Avon park .Best time was 13.95 ,I now have a flow master cat back and a SLP lid so we,ll see if that makes a differance.I,ll hopfully see you at the pod .
P.S its not that far from the park. Ian.

It's a pretty sharp turn off at the end of Avon Park. I think I might need that power steering!

I would worry more about not having your front sway bar than the power steering. It reduces cornering speed dramatically.

When you are rolling, its not that hard to steer even without power steering.
