A motorway encounter. We gave it the gun about 3 times with me in front as we floored the throttle from about 65mph. I would have to say that he was all over my back bumper in the mid ranges and so was either the same or maybe even faster but once we hit 100, a gap could be pulled on every occasion and he'd fall away. I know it was modified as I've broken their spirits on other occasions and this one was very quick in the midrange.
A friend of mine says the Evo 8 is similar - devastatingly quick to 100 but disappointing thereafter.

...and what is a Scooby-Doo? You mean a Subaru WRX STI?

Ah, that's what they're called....LOL. I'm afraid it's a term always used by the British motoring press, often shortened to Scoobies. Very tempting as a second car.

Sometimes i read some british car mags, you really become crazy with all those "Pugs", "Jags" and "Mercs" "Scoobies" was new to me.
These rallye cars have a good acceleration, but you simply don´t need much top speed for a rallye

I think thrashing along a gravel track at well over 100, Marcus Gronholm might not agree. However, Jags have always been Jags but I too get fed up with the "pet names". Porkers (Porsche) aaaand "Bee-Ems" (BMW) also annoy me.

Ok, ok, you´re right
But "over 100" isn´t as much as the top speed of a Porsche Turbo or Z28 or whatever, that´s what i meant

Well, anyway, going that speed in a rallye is much more thrilling than going 200+ km/h on the autobahn...

'Tis true. They haul arse off the line, as they run just over 1 BAR from the factory, but then fall on their face. I've seen the STI's clip off 13.9's at 102.X stock, so watch out for them at the track if you happen to be stock.
